I have had great success over the years with the 3m HS 90. I put two coats on the backer piece in alternating directions, and the same for the fabric, let it dry, and have a friend help set the fabric in place.

The first one I did this way in 1996 and is still perfect. I did two more in 2001 and they are still just fine as well, even with the 104 degree heat and nasty humidity we get here in KC.

I'd expect you won't keep your car as long as I tend to, so you should be just fine.
