Default Advice for a 3 way setup (66 Mustang)

Hey guys,

Looking for some opinion on something I have been thinking about regarding an installation into a 66 Mustang Coupe.

I will lead with what I can't do:
Door speakers
Kickpanel speakers (beyond my plan, see below)
Pillar or dash mount

My plan is the following:

4"/tweet combo in the kick panels. Requires a little bit of metal work, but minor. Likely a small bit of fiberglass work on a repro set of kicks to get the depth I need. I have an existing hole that is 1/4" too small to set the 4" in to that I can trim to get the space I need.
8W7 sub in trunk. Easy install as battery is in the trunk already, and I have done one other early mustang installation so it is easy to fab up a board behind the rear seat with amps/electronics.

Here is my main question, my current plan is to make a custom console, with (2) x 6.5" midbass drivers firing back at the kickpanels .. crossed likely between 63hz and about 180hz. My take is that there aren't any location cues in that frequency range, and the wavelength is pretty long. It might mess with the stage a little bit, however I am willing to make some sacrifices. But honestly I don't see any other way to get any midbass into the front stage without doing something like this. Any opinions are greatly appreciated, pros and cons of the idea, and especially experience.

In the grand scheme of things, this is a 347 car with Long tubes and 2.5" exhaust with turn downs before the axle. Interior is mostly metal surfaces. sound deadening will be installed but will be more about function and resonance removal than it will be SQ improvement.

Thanks in advance

Fej
