I once had plantar fascia issues... God, what a pain. Literally.

I went to an orthopod and he sold me a $90 splint I couldn't wear. Yikes. It's about the only real way to get it to heal outside of surgery, to stretch that tendon out at night, allowing it to heal in the extended position rather than when contracted, as our toes are pointed downward.

Bad thing, is if it continues chronically, it can get WORSE, as scar tissue builds up and causes worsening shortening of the fascia. ACK! Then there's no real option but surgery.

Anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen can help. I essentially just toughed it out for about 6 months, stretched it as much as possible, and it ended up healing on its own.... thank goodness!
