Default Mark Antony Amps STILL on Overstock.com GOOD AMPS

I picked one up (some of you know) as a temporary amp until I get my Pioneer Premier ones in, but after having it for a few weeks and pounding the crap out of it, I can probably put those Premier's on hold indefinitely. What I'm saying here is this amp kicks ass.

Here's the link if you need it:
http://www.overstock.com/cgi-bin/d2....ID=prod1977918

My internal parts pictures are linked on my signature under the amp description, so you can look at that too, if you want.

I have it running both my front stage and my subwoofer. Its all I need. I can tell it is WAY, WAY underrated, because when I run the sub, it is reaching a LOT of excursion with little trouble. Keep in mind my sub is the Eclipse SW8000 LMT. Also, the front stage seems to not care (and why should it, its flippin' stock, but soon to be swapped w/ PRS comps), but honestly it sounds great.

The amp can get hot, but it hasn't gone into thermal or any other kind of cut-out. I'm sure its just because its an A/B design, and its sitting w/ towels around it to keep it from moving until I finish the hatch design.

Oh, and I do like the neat feature of having built in 24db/oct. crossovers right on board, that seems a nice touch, instead of 12db/oct. Also, I like the look. The left side has a bright blue LED to indicate that it is powered up, and it actually is enough light to allow quick adjustments of the pots over on that side without extra light at night. A nice detail as well is that the bird or hawk on the front cover has an eye that lights up in the same blue LED when powered up, and that looks nifty.
Bottom line, very happy here with it, and hopefully the DIYers here can snap up the rest of them.

2007 Mazdaspeed3. Buildup diary in install gallery. Planet Audio Hybrid Tube HVT-754 and HVT-7150 amps. Running Sovtek 12ax7awt+ tubes (in case anyone cares.) Full Active Canton RS comps through RF 3Sixty.2 off the Factory HU. KnuKonceptz wiring, Eclipse SW8000 sub, Raamat and Ensolite

That thing is huge. 5.2" high??? That has to be a typo. Please tell me it's 2.5".

my signature has a thread that I started here about the amp. I took the time to measure it and pop it open for everyone. That way the wrong specs would be corrected to those around here.

Picked up the Mark Antony MK800.4 amp, here's pics (inside & out)

Yeah, I just found that. Thanks, and way to stay on top of that.

Fourthmeal, I noticed in your review that you said this thing eats your electrical system up. How bad is it? I"m currently running a 1000/1 (120 amp fuse) and an alpine 4-channel (30 amp fuse) and I get some dimming, but not much. I'm wanting to get this amp, but don't want to have to deal with power draw issues.

Don't know, would you look that up for me? And, if they are, I'm buying ALL the stock they have, and selling it to you at 2x the cost. Cuz you know once they are made by Zed, people would FREAK out. LOL. However, I doubt that they are.

Then get ICEpower amps.

The current draw is immense. Hell it has 90A of fuses on its case. I know thats not a strict measurement of what the thing will do, but its certainly a good yardstick guess.

Seriously, either up the ante on your charging system, get a fast battery (like batcap or something, like I'm looking for), or find an appropriate capacitor to suit the heavy demand peaks. The beast of an amp is all class A/B, 60% or so efficient, pulling heavy current old school style. It may one day be a reason for me to go back to my plan A, which is running the ICEpower technology like Pioneer, Alpine, or other. Plus I like B&O.

BTW, I don't want to hear about caps being useless. My own Physics science project (for finals) in High School proved to me that it works, provided its a good cap, put in the right way, used for the right purpose, and not over-drawn all the time by too much demand.

I'm interested in hearing reviews and seeing numbers, it looks well built? Is that 4 TO3P transistors per channel I spy?

Well, I've never heard of ICE amps in my life, so I'm going to run a couple searches to see what I come up with. In the meantime does anyone know of some I can look at? I was wanting a cheap solution for 4-channels, but if this thing (and others like it since everything I've found under $200 is A/B) will eat my electrical, I assume D class is what I need to get and much more costly (judging by the PDX amps).

I'm reading up on efficiency here because in all honesty it's never been a consideration. I've only bought 3 amps in 3 years.

Whoops, sorry for being vague... No I didn't have powersupply to bench test it nor the big resistors...
I just installed it and compared it vs my Massive RS40.4.
http://forum.elitecaraudio.com/showt...hreadid=134365

Solid amp, besides the little noise I encountered, it seems to be very powerful (maybe due to diff gain structure) I had my massive at 1/2 gain, MA was at 1/3 and it really worked my mids.
One thing I noticed though, the separation/staging was a bit better with MA. But hey, gains weren't match, so....
