Ok, so I've never made a sub box, nor can I seem to input my sub specs into WinISD to get recommendations.
I have a eD 16kv.2 and want to go vented. If anyone can give me some rough dimensions and what I need to do to go with a PVC port or a slot port, I would very much appreciate it. Of if you want to call me a lazy ass and to fuck off, that's cool too ![]() TIA -aaron |

The easiest thing for you to do is call Alex at eD. He will walk you through it pretty thoroughly.

I briefly ICIX/Google searched and they said something about 2.2 ft^3 slot I believe, but I have no idea how big to make the slot and the specs on the eD site appear to be down. -aaron |

OK - you might want to look at these sites:
http://www.carstereo.com/help2/Articles.cfm?id=17 http://www.carstereo.com/help2/Articles.cfm?id=31 http://www.carstereo.com/help2/Articles.cfm?id=5 http://www.caraudio.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=25 http://forum.sounddomain.com/ubb/ult...;f=11;t=069893 http://www.bcae1.com/spboxnew2.htm http://www.diysubwoofers.org/ I have great site saved at work - very easy to use and it lays out all the panels and port sizes for you. I just won't be able to access that bookmark until Monday. Also, look over on ICIX and they have a section of the forum that provides dimesions and drawings for all popular eD subs. Then call Alex. |

2.2 net cubes sounds WAAAAAY too small for a 15. Start at least 3.5 net cubes. Tuning is going to be vehicle and system dependant. If you have a very small vehicle a higher tuned box usually is more peaky than the same box in a huge SUV. Also if you have weak midbass and you tune to the mid-high 20s you WILL have a nasty gap in system response in your lower midbass area.

You can enter the 16Kv.2 into WinISD but you have to follow their recommended way of entering T/S specs. You kinda have to leave out a few here and there. I'd done it before when I was trying to see the difference between the 16Kv.2 and an old school round 15" Kicker Solobaric with the same box.
