Tyrone how would you compare it to the ED 9.2? or even the 600x14ohm 9.2X?

serious;y after playing with one a customer brought in i can say these amps are worth 139$$ no questions whatsoever. they are pretty damn clean and id say they def do rated power... we opened his up and it was built very very well for an amp in this price range

Id say the amps are about equal in terms of build quality and output but the velocity has some extra features that the ed amps dont. It would be a no brainer at this price.

I think Blaupunkt is one of those brands that most people clump together with Sony, Kenwood, JVC, ect. and IMO alot of their gear is one of the best kept secrets in Car Audio. :)

Speaking of Blaupunkt I just orderd an all Blaupunkt Velocity system
consisting of: (1) of their VA4100 4 channel amps, (1) one their VC660 6.5"
component sets, (2) of their VA1400 amps,(1) of their VW1200 subs. I plan
on running one amp per voicecoil.
I'll post some pics of the gear when it comes.

Too bad they look like they were custom designed for the U.S.S. Enterprise.Amazing how that cover makes them look that way but when you take it off they have a somewhat jazzed up traditional clean look to them.

You know, I had an idea in my head about using that cover as a frame to fiberglass into an amp rack design. Would give a very tight and clean clook....then I could just unscrew them if I ever need to service them.

Be warned!! Running an amp per vc is extremely hard to get right, unless the amps are "strappable", like some RF's, MTX's, etc. If you are so much as a 1/2 dB off, you'll have major problems, potentially. Be extremely careful! Otherwise, I'd say that setup sounds great.

I think youd be better off powering the blau sub with a va2200. It my be a little under rms but Im sure it will be fine.
Also psyched to see how the all velocity system comes out. Ive been recommending them for so long because theyve been going for so cheap and have been wondering about the speakers and sub. The 6.5 inch has a 3"vc and is being sold for $50 on ebay. Its like too good to be true.

Its strictly cosmetic. Just to hide the wires and be able to create a seamless look with 2 VA amps like in my old set up. Its not needed at all.

I would love to hear some revues on their speakers.
I am leaning more and more towards the va4100. The one thing I wanted on my amp that I don't have it remote bass/gain knob for the rear channels. The sub control on my H/U is a pain since it is the last control in the menu system. It looks like I would lose a little power, but the remote gain and experimenting might be worth it.

they are only 15" in length so that's a good thing. I will post pics later on tonight.

That is a Comparison I would like to see. I have been looking at some ARC and dreaming because of cost. I am leaning toward the XXK, because the specs seem to be the same as the Foose editions. I was thinking about these as a test and transition, but if they are good enough they could be more permanent. One thing I like is the remote gain so I can use the rear channels bridged for my sub.

Well I have been telling with Massive Audio for sometime and I compare the VA2200 with the 400.2 and the 2200 it the nicer amp of the two. It really remind me of the DLS RA20 which I think along with the powers to be at DLS to be the best sounding in the DLS line.
Believe me these are really nice amps. I have used many amps in my time. For the price they are selling at they have to be the best value in amps.

I've had my va4100 for a couple weeks now from Tyrone and as far as I can tell, everything sounds great. I haven't had any issues out of it yet and the sound production is very clear and detailed. Actually made my music seem a bit more "airy" which I like. I crank up the music when my windows are down and I get no distortion out of my speakers. Of course, my speakers are rated @ 100w, right on par with the output of this amp.
For $140, it's likely the best deal I'll ever get (knock on wood this thing doesn't blow on the way home).

Weird. According to Blaupunkt, the recommended frequency range for the coaxials (Vx662) is 50-22,000hz. While the recommended frequency range for the VC660 is 60-23,000hz. So I take it, the coaxials have a better midbass response?

Alright... these are the specs for the VA2200
Channels 2/1
Unbridged Power (Wrms) 2 x 200
Bridged Power (Wrms) 1 x 600
Load stability (min./unbridged) bridged 4 ohms @ 1 x 600 W / bridged 2 ohms @ 1 x 650 W
S/N Ratio: dBa @ 1W > 80
dBa @ Full Power > 100
Input Mode RCA
Input Gain Range (V rms) 0.3 – 8.0
Crossovers (cont. variable) HP/LP, 50 – 250
Dimensions (in) 2.4 x 11.8 x 19.3
Now I'm a bit confused because it states 600w x 1 @ 4 ohms, but it also says bridged 650w x 1 @ 2 ohms?
To my knowledge most 2 channels only go to 4 ohms bridged... So I was wondering whether this is even possible. I need to know specifically, because I'm going to be running one sub, so if its not right... the sub wont work. Or at least it will throw the amp into a different ohm setting.
What do you guys think?
Btw, I'm Rekd's brother that bought the VA2200 and VA4100 combo. Unfortunatly the 4100 just went on backorder on sonicelectronix and I still havent recieved mine even though I purchased them on wednesday of last week. There are some amps that are 2 ohm stable when bridged. It would seem from the specs that this is one of them. I've run one of my 2 channel Premier PRS amps bridged at 2 ohms and it does fine.

The va2200 is not 2 ohm stable bridged. It will handle a 2 ohm load bridged but the thermal throttle will kick in constantly making you acutally get less power than a 4 ohm load. They wil state in the manuel that minimum bridged load is 4 ohms. Its a a/b class amp and although it has good shut off protection, sitck with 2 ohm stereo or 4 ohms bridged.

I figure at that price if it won't do what I need on my sub I can always use it for a solid front stage down the road, and spend a bit more and get the VA1400 for the low end! ;)
Gotta love excuses for another purchase!

I decided not to order them for a few reasons.
1. I need to get rid of that Rubicon I bought
2. I have decided to go DLS and just won an A1 on ebay
3. I took a risk and ordered one of Zuki's mystery amps
4. My wife would kill me. :o

Stuff like this is what makes this website great. Screw the names and hype, I want a system that sounds like it cost thousands for hundreds (or the least money possible).
To all who purchased them, you wont be dissapointed. Theyre just good solid amps and they do the job as well as amps 4x the price. I think I used 8 of them in my car and other installs and not one issue for about a year now. So they seem very reliable, probably due to their heat management.
Plus if you are doing an install with them, the trim keeps the (unexperienced) customer from messing with the gains and settings. Unless they have a allen key or the nifty blue screwdriver it comes with, that is. I have 8 blaupunkt screwdrivers. ;)

If you want, try and order from midwestelectronics. They are a REAL authorized internet dealer for Blaupunkt (This is where my company tells me to order from if I want my company discount;) ). It states they will match prices or at least try to.
http://www.midwestelectronics.com/blaupunkt-va4100-p-87.html
And yes it should be able to handle a 2 ohm load. I just wouldn't push it all that hard.
Thanks ... just bought 2 va4100's from midwestelectronics.com. The guy said they have about a dozen in stock

For some reason, Blaupunkt decided years ago they would go with an outside company to service all their car product. So if you bought something from an Authorized dealer and it went bad, they would send it to Midwest. They expanded to sell product as well.
They are about as close to the source as you can get from Blaupunkt in the US, and for some products, pretty much the only source as a consumer (navigation CDs/DVDs, remotes, etc.)

I am not the happiest with sonicelectronix.com right now. It has been nearly 3 weeks since I made my order and the va4100 is still on back order. Not to mention the fact that when I ordered it, it wasn't on back order and said it would ship in 1-2 days. I then received an email a week later saying it was on backorder when I was already expecting to receive it by then. I still haven't even got an email from them saying approximately when it will be in stock when I ordered an in supposedley in stock item. Like I said I ordered my PRS comps from them and didn't have a problem, but it kinda sucks this time around. I think I should receive some kind of compensation/discount for having to wait this long for an item that was in stock. Why should I have to pay the same as someone who didn't have to wait for the amp since I ordered it when it was in stock too.

Good advice;)
That is what I did before I ordered my 2200 from Sonic...still took about a week to arrive...and when it did I opened the box and the amp itself had been taken out of the plastic bag (torn bag burried underneath) and the shroud had dinged the colored part of the heat sink fins a bit:mad:
Any idea why they would open it up before sending it? (and then not pack it back correctly)
Minor deal so i will keep it as long as everything works fine when I test it...not worth shipping back for a ding, but it is still irritating.
I had also called Midwest and spoke with a gentleman there before ordering..seemed very honest, and was genuinely sorry he couldn't quite match their price (Sonic)...I should have paid the bit extra since they are next door though...probably would have had better luck;)

Id call them now and complain about it. This way you start a paper trail early if there is a problem with the amp. Maybe they might compensate you in some way?

The better plan would be to have somone aka (sephiroth619) buy 2 at the same time for possibly a discounted price and ship it to me. :) Either way works for me! Usually you need a receipt from an authorized dealer along with the warranty card to have a valid warranty. I don't know how picky Blaupunkt is, but that's usually how it works.

What do you mean by the cheapest way to ship them? As in which company... or how to box them? Just standard shipping for these amps shouldn't be too bad as they are pretty light.
I think DHL sends for the cheapest... but I have heard some bad things about them sometimes. UPS is usually pretty good, and same with USPS. You wont be able to save on shipping because you cant send them all in on package though. Regardless I'm willing to pay you for shipping just the same.

I always use FedEx Ground. It seems to be the cheapest and most reliable. You could set up a free account for all the amps and then all you'd have to do is imput the names and addresses, print off the lables at home and then take them to a Kinko's and you're done. They'd be billed to the CC you put on your account.

I am going to try and get to brea right now. Been working on sound equipment at church today and took much longer than I expected, but it is mostly all done. It is our old chapel that our Korean and Spanish service use and equipment was seriously rough.
You know how it goes
We put a new board in and then discovered the horns were blown on the speakers (I never use that room)
Then we got new speakers and discovered we didn't have the right amps. SO we searched through a ton we had laying round(already spent too much) and of all things found a Peavey DCA that worked the best. Not that we are running much, just some small EV 10"
Anyway I will see what I can do.

I really love the size of this amp. I thought they were going to be HUGE but the VA2200 is very nicely sized, especially for the amount of power it puts out. Diamond D3 amps are relatively small so it gives you an idea of the size of the VA2200. I'll be installing it after I pick up the VA4100.

I'm a long time forum 'lurker' but finally decided to join in response to this post. I'd love to put my name in the hat for a 4100 if possible. i've got good ebay feedback and can provide plenty of other references if required.
Incidentally, in my experience, my favorite shipper is FedEx but you have to shop carefully. A couple of tips about FedEx. 1) i was told by my FedEx rep when inquiring about a bulk usage contract that the Fedex online discount available to those using Quickbooks software is the largest discount available without contracting for multi-thousand dollar volumes annually. 2) One of our partners at his predecessor company conducted an informal study of their FedEx shipments (his company did $250 million in revenue at time of sale). The upshot of it was that over 90% of their FedEx 3-day shipments arrived in 2 days or less and many times got there overnight.
I recently found out that over short regional distances, DHL Ground can be an excellent choice. For example, Atlanta to Charlotte via DHL ground is basically an overnight service with no price premium. I had a fella make me some custom leather seats for my old BMW a while back and he dropped the 2 50 lb boxes off at his DHL Ground depot on a Thursday at 5 pm. They were sitting on my front porch in Charlotte the next morning at 8am. The cool thing as opposed to UPS is that DHL ground online will give you a fairly accurate delivery date for short distances as opposed to UPS, which is often very quick over short regionals too, but may be able to provide only a 2-3 day window.
Sorry for hijacking, but i figured i'd contribute something to get my membership started and while we are waiting on info for the group buy.

I am kind of wondering who is going to take on this venture. Are you (sephiroth619/fredridge) going to do the GB together, because the list is starting to get pretty big depending on whether some of the people on the list still want them or not. I guess one person could start by calling and asking the dealers which ones would be willing to make a big order such as this and who will give the best prices on the amplifiers. Once we get the prices all established, we can send payment to whoever wants to take on that role and they can ship them out once they recieve payment from that person. Maybe put make sure and put a description in the Paypal payment such as rekd0514 (VA4100 + VA2200) x 2. You can ship through one of the ways mentioned or through Paypal's shipping feature through UPS so we can all see our tracking # on Paypal. Let's get this figured out! I am willing to help in anyway possible to get this done! I may start PMing those who have said they wanted amps and confirm that they will be confirmed buyers. I will also get the list updated here.

12-2200
1-4100
Here is the deal. I gotta use CC, have to pay tax and possibly CC fee.
Here is what this means. The prices Sephiroth listed
va1400 -$120
va2200 - $99
va2200 - $89
Va4100 - $125
Plus shipping and my paypal fees
If you guys are willing to do this I will help out and get them

Prices Sephiroth Listed
va1400 -$120
va2200 - $99
va2200 - $89
Va4100 - $125
Because of tax and my CC and paypal
Prices + shipping
1400= $138
2200= $114
2100 = $104
4100= sorry sold
I did it in my head, but that is 8.25% tax 3% CC to company and 3% paypal and I have no clue about shipping.
I can get them tomorrow probably but would not be able to do anything about shipping until Thursday night or Friday because work is crazy

I have the card in my car. I will get the number. I asked, they will not ship, I would really prefer they would. This looks like a huge undertaking, just from looking at it I have more appreciation for fourthmeal.
I think it is just called car audio and alarms in Brea. It is next to guitar center. If someone is close go in there and pick on up. It would be much easier for all.
Biggest problem is he wants me to buy everything.

lol you have your hands full just start some sytem, find out what and how many he has avaliable, then start a list but make sure you collect money first so you are not stuck with anything out of pocket(SUCKS!) third send my amplifier to me first so I can then take pictures with it and show it off before the others get thiers.

I'm thoroughly pissed off. I called my guy today and he says the VA4100's are on backorder. He says he can get me some immediately for $179, I don't know how or where but he says he can do that. I ask him, "what about the $99 that you quoted me last week"? He said that he can honor that price once the amps are not on backorder anymore. Total BS. If I had to guess, he quoted me $99 for the VA4100 out of his ass and realized his mistake and telling me this was his only way out.
Really sorry about this guys.

Ahhhh.... after reading all the reviews and looking around, I've decided to pick up at least a pair of these amps. However, I'm having trouble deciding... VA4100 + VA2200 for 3-way front stage ($311 shipped) or 3x VA2200s ($378 shipped from SonicElectronix).
Do I really NEED 200x6? No, of course not, who does??? But then again, it's only an extra $67 to have practically unlimited power for my front stage. The hassle of 3 amps over 2 is also another factor... hmmm...
Advice, anyone?

Keep in mind these are class A/B, so unless you have hefty alternator power you will be using ALOT of current.. ;)
4100+2200 would take 1/3 less than 3 2200s, at least at rated power.
My 2 cents :)

Only when blasting at full power, which is not the usual. That mainly happens at full throttle on the highway.
My last system consisted of nearly 1000W from ESX Quantums, as well as an Ampman Revo 1500.1 @ 1 ohm. I had a little headlight dimming, but from a stock 90A alt and an $80 AutoZone battery, I'm pretty happy.
If I need to upgrade my alt, I'll be happy to. ;)
