Xbox 360...whats all the hype about?

Why does everyone have a hard-on for this game system? Its not even close to touching the Playstation consoles...so why all the hype and the HUGE pricetag?

As i've heard the US is sold out till march....but i heard it from someone, so it might not be right..lol.

I'm waiting on the PS3 myself. Hopefully it'll be much better than the xbox 360, by leaps and bounds. I know the hardware on paper looks superior, but its only better if the companies can make use of it.....by making superior games.

Seeing as how the PS2 revoluntionized gaming consoles a few years ago, be ready to see some amazing stuff come out of it! Without a doubt it will topple the Xbox crap. About one of the only things Sony does right is the Playstation.

they have crunched the numbers and the only reason xbox 360 looks better is because game makers dont want to seperate their code into 7 processors... 1 for each part of the code which makes it 7 times harder and longer to make a game.

thats why xbox is making the exclusive deals. They have also said that xbox looks a bit faster then ps3 in most areas. now things can change but thats how it stands right now.

thge only thing that gets me with ps3 is that then are using blu-ray which holds over 50gigs on them! as opposed to 9 that xbox is using.


BTW this is coming from a diehard PS fan even though i dont like sony :) kinda weird but some things I hate that sony makes and other things I LOVE.



it really doesnt come down to which is better because in the long run each will be spectacular.... BUT which one will fit your needs? I remember reading something that ps3 will have more gadgets such as connectivity and multimedia expansion or something like that. I think ps3 comes with wireless while xbox you have to pay for it. and then there is harddrives that each company did differently.....

I don't know because this is off the top of my head.... and its confusing.

I didnt think so but xbox looks pretty good this time around. just gotta wait for the price to drop. (THEN I can look at ps3) who knows it might end up the same as last time....

most gamers who want the MOST bought both the xbox and ps2... so go figure!

I totally agree! that and their digital cameras are pretty neat. forget audio... sony seems to be lost when it comes to audio.

I don't have a huge hard on for an Xbox 360 but I want one. I have one on preorder and I should get it once the next shipment comes in but who knows.

If you think the Xbox 360 has a huge price tag then you'll love the PS3's launch price of $500 or more and that doesn't even come with a hard drive. BTW I'm no Xbox fan boy (but I do like it a lot), I own a Dreamcast, PS2, Gamecube, & a modded Xbox (multimedia features galore plus emulation of older systems like NES, SNES, GBA, Genesis, TG-16, MAME, and others).

The main reasons why I want an Xbox 360 is the detail to the online modes and the HD graphics (though I'll be using my 21" monitor so I can get the high res graphics instead of the low res on my normal 27" TV).

Some people want the new Xbox 360 for the multimedia aspects but IMO MS fucked that up. A modded Xbox with Xbox Media Center kicks the shit out of the Xbox 360 in that department as you don't need a Media Extender PC and it can play Ogg audio, Divx, Avi, OGM, and other audio and video formats that the 360 won't support. If it wasn't for Xbox Media Center I'd never watch TV since I don't get cable or have an antenna so I download all my TV shows and stream them from my PC to my TV using my Xbox. It's great, I get HD TV ripped shows that look better than if you pay for cable... not to mention I can burn the shows on a Data DVD and cram 9+ hours of high quality video on a single disc.

I think people have gotten too crazy about the Xbox 360... I've heard reports of fights and someone robbed a game store at gun point... pretty stupid over a console. But that's all marketing hype and pre-Holiday madness IMO.

As far as the PS3 vs Xbox 360... well it's hard to tell. The PS3 may have better graphics, it may not.. but one thing for certain is MS has the upperhand as far as online games go. I'll probably get a PS3 and a Revelution once they go down in price but right now I want my Xbox 360... Crazed comsumers be damned. :D

Still not sure which i want.....anyone ebayed for the xbox 360.....Talk about 800-1k a peice for the premium setup....

Hopefully the ps3 won't be too expensive when it shows up, but who knows really, they havn't released cost yet, but did say more than $299.

I'm right now aiming for PS3, i happen to enjoy mainly FPS and RPG's....mainly FF and wizard types...gotta love magic. :D I hope Square-Enix at least makes something similar again but better and no online cost to play, but like FFXI online....i loved that game. Was a Lv60/30, BLM/WHM and man that was a fun game......most addictive game i ever played. But i'm really looking for a console that has ALOT of very nice lengthy top notch excellent games, mature games, can play DVD's (I had GC ugh) and has a very nice Online lineup.

BTW who can forget about Dante and DMC?

I got the 360 with call of duty and the graphics are way above anything else out right now....even better than most computer games. Its on a HDTV plasma TV right now so its pretty amazing. Anybody remember when games first came out for the old xbox and the old ps2? there ALOT better now that they were using the console to its fullest. Just wait for the better developed games to come out for the 360 in a few months and then talk about how its a bad consule......its worth the 400 IMO

The Intellivision, Colecovision & Atari 5200 had the worst controllers EVER to be released on a gaming system. Owned all 3 & kept the Coleco since I can modify it's controllers.

I have 3 kids... the only only console they don't have at the moment is the PS2 (the Xbox was a b-day gift from grandparents or they wouldn't have that either)

I find that they play them all with equal intensity, since each system has a favorite. So i eagerly await the new stuff to come out so that the old drops in price with a much more mature list of titles & bug fixes on the hardware...

we have a 360 and ours runs fine and its real fun too.

we had to pre-order in july from gamestop and barely got the first shipment. other then the defective copy of Call of Duty 2 it runs great. (we exchanged for a new CoD2 disc) Perfect Dark, Madden and Condemned all play fine... good stuff and its a lot of fun.
