My car is all stock except for some grippy street tires and my system. The system stayed in the car for the track day; I could have listened to music the whole time if I wanted.

Why do you have to block out the lights? As to not blind anyone?

People tape their lights to protect them from flying debris. If your lense cracks, it could be dangerous.

I have always wanted to do that since modding my 95 Mx6. Too bad there are no tracks like that around here :( It would be nice to get the Eaton m45 in and give ya a run! Nice pics btw!

Never road raced (as in with curves, not street racing). I have always been a drag racer, My Ex used to autocross and loved it. Me, I like the launch :) When I raced my truck I did leave the system in and would play it (and the run the AC), till I was ready to launch. Nothing better than a burn out lane and old school White Zombie to improve your reaction time!

Looks like fun, I now have a car that can do corners as opposed to straight lines. I may try it sometime! Have fun! Only question... Why arent you smiling? Every pic I have of myself at the races I have this shit-eating grin from ear to ear :)

Navigating the track at high speed takes ALL your concentration, for 20 minutes at a time. None left over for facial expressions! When you're drifting toward the edge of the road at 70mph, it takes all your focus just to point your car in the right direction.

Definitely start with autox. I raced autox for two years before Monday. It's low risk, and guaranteed to give you a stupid grin at the end. ;)

Here's one of me starting to lift a wheel, probably going ~60mph.
