Looking on AMP GUTS they seem to be quit hefty components used......but with an untrianed eye are these good amplifier or only decent? Would going with a all DLS amplification be abtter idea if I am already half way there with the A3? Just looking for some overall feedback and direction before i go to make thing permenent. amp guts

I am also getting the DD Audio DD4 amp to run the front stage in my wife's new car and a second one to run the front stage in my new car. As both rides I will keep the factory HU for all of their features. This amp looks killer and has tons of features that you dont find in many of the amps out there today, and to think you can get an amp like this for less than $500!!
And I too will run one of their mono amps in my car, the wife does not want a sub (due to the children)
I was looking at running this mono amp from DD Audio...powering a Dayton Reference 12

This is the one that did it for me....I love the fact that DD Audio takes the time to engineer their multi channel amps to have separate power supplies for each set of channels, thats TITS right there.

I wish my S4 wasn't bolted in to my car... I'd take some pics of the internals for you guys. The S4 is MUCH different than the DD amps pictured on ampguts. It's a beefy SOB on the inside.
I had a few design engineer buddies look at the thing when I got it and they were all telling me that it was basically overbuilt as all hell. I really want to bench test the thing, because I'm sure it's putting out considerably more than the rated power.
The crossover section is quite nice as well, the amp is capable of running an active 2-way component set...
Another nice feature, the clip indicator. It makes the initial setup of the amp a freaking breeze.

where are you getting the s4's from?
umm...authorized dealers....:D
Another fact about DD Audio that impresses me is how they control their distribution very well. They do not sell to online "whore houses". You really wont find them over the internet unless its a used amp or on Egay. They do not resell their Bstock nor refurbed amps. That helps keep quality of product to the upmost.
If you dont find a local dealer, they will sell to you directly.

Very stout looking internals and sleek exterior design. But how do they sound? Do they compare to ARC, Zed, Zapco, etc?

My S4 replaced a Zed built Planet Audio HVT-754.... the difference was astonishing. Even with my incomplete install and improper speaker locations, the S4 made my soundstage more realistic... and of course, everything is LOUDER. My Dyn MW160 midbasses have never been happier.
Honestly, the S4 is a straight up SQ lover's amplifier. I'd compare it to similar offerings from Arc, Zapco and Audison.
