I should be receiving (2) of these, within the next few days. I've done a search, but all I can find are the same few folk suggesting .5 - 1 cubic foot, sealed. I'll only be using one of these, for now, in an acoustic-suspension enclosure, and it'll receive 400-500 watts. Looking for overall SQ. My music preferences are all over the place. I listen to it all: Pop, Rock, Rap, R&B, whatever. Looking for the optimal enclosure volume, relative to the power I'll be using. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

sorry, wrong thread. Not sure how that happened.

My testing really didn't show a lot of difference in output from enclosure size changing with this particular driver. Here is one of my RTA's of two different enclosure sizes:

Please note that these enclosure sizes are net sizes, meaning I've already subtracted the driver's volume. Also note that my trunk is the reason for the roll off at around 50Hz. Testing the sub outside of my truck yielded a frequency response very close to a 200Hz x-over point.

To me, these two boxes sounded identically the same. The obvious choice to me was to use the smaller box since output didn't change much.

I've experimented some with enclosures down to .5cF net and still didn't hear too much difference, but it was becoming more apparent that low end extension was starting to suffer some.

I'm currently running mine inverted in a .65cF net enclosure and it sounds fantastic. Bass is deep and very, very clean and transparent ("transparent" from the stand point the the bass does not sound like it's being produced by a speaker).

I'd argue that an enclosure with .6 -.75cF net is perfect for this driver. I have no issues with the ~480wrms I'm running and I listen to everything but Country music. ;)

1.11 cu ft stuffed with fiberglass and around 120w is enough to shake stuff off my walls (computer sub).

should do nicely when I finally install it in my car...

Thanks for the help. I've decided to try .75 cu ft, net, w/ approx 420 watts. I'll let you guys know how it goes.
