It would be the same thing if I had published an article online and you tried to use it for a college paper as your own. i bet they change their mind when it gets overpopulated;) i worked the brim over last summer in my neighbors pond by their request to thin them out and some of them were so big you could have mistaked the fillets for crappie:o :D i'm going to get a rough count of crappie in it late march to see if they need to be thinned out too. it gets fertilized with horse manure from the pasture up the hill from it via a culvert;)

I usually catch and release...cleaning them is no fun. I cant remember the last time I actually scaled a fish.

i don't scale them. i take my electric knife, cut down to the bone, cut the meat off to the tail, flip the meat over, and cut the meat out of the skin. takes me on average 30 seconds per brim and about a min per crappie. i do this all in one fluid movement. just gotta fight the sweat bees off in the summer :mad:i r teh pimp when it comes to cleaning fish.

the lake is on a nature preserve that used to be a test bomboing area where small nuclear bombs were tested in WWII. I dont think anyone in their right mind would want to eat the fish out of the lakes in this place lol.:p Plus I guess there is a law somewhere, atleast here in CO, that says you cant keep anything caught on a nature preserve.

zero population management is just asking for trouble even if you just throw the fish to the wildlife. the pond i'm technically managing right now got really bad until i thinned it out and the fish started getting consistantly fatter and bigger. it's basically the same concept as deer hunting. but i know i sure as hell wouldn't want to eat fish out of a former bomb crater. i trust the honcho of the native reserve knows what they're doing so i'm not going to try to tell them how to do their job.

the bald eagles and other predators eat the fish im sure. Not sure how the employees maintain a proper ecosystem though.
