I'm 20 and I've been into car audio for a good 4 years now and have learned far more than I ever would have guessed there was to this hobby.
The most common response I get when people hear my name is,"really? Like chemo therapy?" Makes me want to kick him/her in the nuts sometimes. Other names I have aquired are Therapy, Cancer, Killmo(I'm a card dealer and I take people's money a lot), Komo, Keem and James(Kimo is Hawaiian for James although a Japanese woman told me Kimo is a Japanese name?). My initials are KKK and one time I worked at a Lincoln Dealership and I initialed a piece of paper used when filling up cars with gas that the salesmen use as well and one of them was black. That was also like my first week on the job and my boss called me in his office and we had a pretty good laugh about it.
I also ride BMX, snowboard, wakeboard, play video games(PC or PS3)and I love anything to do with electronics.
I consider myself a nice guy, at least in person.
The End.

Hi Kimo. Yours has to be the most interesting name I've seen on here. We should add one more nickname to the mix. kimowatt...it would suit you better here right?:p

kimowatt, nice.
I've never been to hawaii unfortunately. Born in Washington and I've lived in the same place all my life. Pretty rainy place for a hawaiian:(

Yeah, I apologize. Afterwards I thought the whole thing was kind of ridiculous and I don't feel like holding grudges or anything.
Sorry about the whole thing, now I can forget about it:)

sup kimo.
that's ironic you've never been to hawaii. i have a feeling that if you ever go, you won't come back, esp after comparing it to washington. :p

What's up! Yeah, I'm supposed to go in the spring according to my mom. She kept bugging me for months and months to pick some dates so she can take me for a high school graduation present from 06. But I kept telling her not to worry about it because I don't want her to spend money on it when I know she's in debt.
But she insists. So I guess I could be going there in a few months. I have relatives there but I don't think I'll be meeting them because of problems with my father in the past. I don't know my father and my mom doesn't want him to get pictures of me or to hear about me from them. I don't really care because I've never met them or talked to them, so I don't know them at all.
I feel like I'm kind of out of place here though. Every time it's sunny out I can't help but smile much more and just feel very happy and content. When it's cloudy out or rainy I feel sort of depressed. It's always been this way. Maybe everyone is like this? I dunno.
I'm almost always in a good mood when the sky is clear and the sun is shining, especially if it's warm outside. Makes me want to go wakeboarding just thinking about summer.

i think most people enjoy sunny weather more.
i've been to hawaii twice, and loved it. this last time I was in Kauai, and it was amazing. I think it's the least touristy of the islands, and it was great to just kick back in some of the more "native" parts of the islands. I seriously considered moving there, even though it'd kill me to get my car stereo gear. :p

lol, I hear the cost of living is quite high. Althought they seem to have a lot of poor druggies that are surviving on that show, Dog the bounty hunter! If they can do it, I'm sure I could make it!

it's cool. everybody closes stores to go surfing on good days. i could really deal with not seeing my friends anymore and move over there.
one thing to look out for is there are chickens all over the island of kauai. they just roam free.

on oahu you need to make sure you don't fall victim to crime. at times i wondered if the hood of little rock was a safer place.:o

i've been lucky, but I am a bit hesitent to install anything too nice in my car in plain view. Violent crimes aren't too bad, but property crime is rather high.
It's hard when the rest of the country kinda forgets about us out here. It's not too hard to get audio equipment out here if you're willing to pay. No one out here is into SQ though :(
Cost of living isn't all that much higher than where I was living in California, so I figured I might as well give it a shot out here.
I don't know how your intro thread turned into hawaii discussion, I just thought it was funny you had such a hawaiian name.

I'm half hawaiian which is why I have a hawaiian name lol. I'm also half dutch but I guess my mother thought that a hawaiian name would suit me better. I agree, if you can pronounce my full name it flows quite nicely.
Kimo Kahikole Kalihi
Most people tend to fail at that though. In fact half the people I meet fail at pronouncing my first name. Somehow? They'll say it kymo. Which, to me, just sounds retarded and I can't understand how they would read it that way. Who knows.
My last name is worse because people almost ALWAYS pronounce it as if the "l" and the "h" were reversed. Kahili. I tell them over and over again that it's kalihi but they still can't get it right. At my 8th grade graduation I told the guy how to say my name because he always did this and I thought he had it down but of course, he said it backwards when they called me up.
I don't bother telling people what my middle name is unless they ask because nobody has been able to get that one on the first try.

people usually don't know how to pronounce the last name Riegler, either. not in 8th grade, not last year....

As in, RY-GLER?
jj_diamond
01-22-2008, 07:53 AM
wrong.
it's pronounced Rigler, the 'e' is silent. the 'i' sound is the same as in the word 'is'.
Riegler

Really? Strange. Why? lol I'm not a fan of silent letters in words. What's the point of them being there?
