fello diyers,
i want to put a 10" subwoofer in an enclosure that has about .35 cut of airsapce. the enclosure will be tucked behind the rear seat of a 2005 Ford Ranger (Thailand model). I have enuough clearance for a woofer with about 3.5" mounting depth.
I have 350w @ 2ohms available. I am posting here for options.
woofer will essential be playing from 40hz down, and will most likely remain sealed (with dacron inside).
at the moment all i have available to me is the Lorentz Audio 10" shallow mount (D4 version) and a elemental desings EU700 (which is not a 10").
Any suggestions?

Fi Q10, but the woofer does move out the front pretty far, so make sure it has room..

Double up at least, or as many as you can fit !

The Fi Q maybe a nice sub, it's not all the right choice for the OP at all. It's way deeper than 3.5" which rules it out right there and more than likely wants an enclosure larger than the 3.5 he has.

Elemental Designs has a shallow 10, but you may as well get the Tang Band since it's the same thing.

That's a little small for airspace for a 10" sub.

no shit, not to mention he needs a final 2ohm impedence which rules out alot of diy home drivers that might work.
I would suggest looking for other options as far as space. there is nothing that will provide you with adequate low end (especially below 40hz). look up: hoffman's iron law

Can we go isobaric here?
A woofer that requires about .7 cubic feet with isobaric loading would work out just fine.

i think i can fit two Elemental SQ10 or two EU700.
For the moment it's either the two EU700 or the Lorentz Audio Slim line 10 CM Dual 4 ohm VC.
I am gonna investigate the Sq10 a lil further though.
I am not really looking for spectacular output, but i am looking for tight clean subbass. i listen primarily to jazz and a little 80's Madonna, Police, U2, Steel Pulse etc.
I have an 8" midbass installed in the doors that can provide the midbass punch, i am just looking to effectively fill from 40hz down to 25hz....
thanks for the responses thus far....keep them coming!

Having used the EU700 on more than one install, a Honda Civic powered with a LP DPS200 and a F150 powered with an Orion wave 4 channel.
I feel confident in reccomending this driver !;)

The SQ10 will probably suit your needs then:)

Use an 8. Something like this 8 will sound nice.

This driver is an older solobaric and one of these in .35 ported will have more output than a single 10 in the same enclosure. Keep in mind that this is based on your requirements. I know that the depth is almost one inch off but you may be able to work it in.
I would also recommend a Pioneer Premier shallow mount 10.
I am sure people will hammer the Pioneer remark.

With proper 8's and installation in the door, they will play lower than your 10's choked back in a small box.
If you don't believe me plot both in WINISD.

1 elemental designs SQ 10" will work. They come in 2ohm single voice coil models as well. Smallest box for them is .35 cf.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but and IDQ10v2 would be a great choice here. It'll go in a .35 cu ft enclosure and be happy about it, and it's nice an efficient. And for your taste in music, it's a perfect fit. The thing isn't for bassheads, just people who want a transparent, accurate, yet authoritative bottom end.
An ID10 would give you a little more output (and cost less money), but I'm not sure it meets the mounting depth requirements.

^^ The IDQ10 is a bit too deep.....else for me it would have been a no brainer, having used one in the past.
those credence speakers are too deep as well
the 8's i have is the DLS iridium 8. i plan to run them down to 38/40hz (Fs=40) on a 24db/oct slope.
So at the moment it looks like either the SQ10 or maybe a pair of EU700s.
i have also began to investigate maybe using a pair of the DLS Classic W308B 8" as well. Any thoughts on this guys???
does anyone have experience with the Lorentz Audio 10?? i picked it up from a friend who has migrated...BNIB.

Ya, I was going to mention the IDQ10v3 which goes down to .33cF, but its too deep for his enclosure.
