...But unfortunately it sounds like a freight train :)

The next phase of the audio is finished. I installed a CDA9855 in place of my old Sony head unit. Because the dash was silver I needed to make it black so I used the Honda supplied CF dash trim kit. The old head unit was silver wiht a silver scosche kit. Matching silvers is a big bish so I had 3 different colors of silver in there :) I like the black much better and the Alpine sounds killer in there!

Here's the new pics:

I also finally have matching dash illumination! I hate blue, it kills my night vision!

So The rig is almost done, I need to fix this mess:

Then it's off to treating the doors to some acoustic materials and finding a couple rattles notably inside the headliner. The amp rack F-glass work is next!

Nice. Maybe the pictures don't tell the whole story, but I thought the Sony looked great in there.

So where is the DCX2496 going to fit? :D

One reason I picked the Sony is because of it's looks and XM capability. I also thought it looked more elegant and "grown up" but it had it's limitations system wise. The Alpine is MUCH more flexible and tuneable. As for where I'm putting the DCX's whe I get some...... In my drive rack for my PA :) I have decided to try it (the car) without outboard DSP for now. I'm not using rear speakers so the Alpine's DSP does it for the time being.

Thanks for the CF props Mojako and drocpsu. It's actually an overlay sold by Honda, it fit perfectly. I feel a little "ricey" now though :)

CF in an Si isn't necessarily ricey. It fits.

I agree, the dash looks better in black. Looking good chad.
