Hi,
I have been visiting this site a lot as a guest and have got a lot of information which has been very helpful.
I live in India and getting a good installer here is pretty difficult and pretty expensive.
My current setup on my Ford Fiesta is an Alpine 9887, 5x7 Kicker coax front & 6x9 Kicker coax rear parcel.
I need a lot info on a DIY to upgrade my speakers probably to a Hertz or Illusions & get a 4 channel amp.

Welcome :) Is your question regarding DIY drivers or picking up component sets like Hertz or Illusions? What about the 4 ch amp?
Since you have been browsing for awhile, im sure you know we need more information regarding your set up and your musical preference, install locations, budget, etc....

Hi Az,
The reason that go me into a lot of searching was to change my current front speaker set up towards something that is pure SQ (to my ears atleast) and I have auditioned Polks & JBLs but the sound coming from them does not suit my ears. I found that SQ speakers come out from Hertz, Audision, Illusions & Focals.
These are available in India & so the reason to name only these. The change is also an upgrade from a co-ax to a set of comps.
My headaches began when the supposedly best installer in my city said he would not put in spacers to accommodate any speaker size apart from a 5x7 which is the size on my front doors. So I have was stuck with having only one choice, that being the Hertz ESK 570. I would have loved to have the Hi-Energy series but no 5x7.
Now, I have decided to go in for a DIY & get spacers done and probably put in the speakers myself along with the amp & some damping.
I wish to keep the current 6x9 on the rear as it is more for rear passengers which is a rarity in my case.

Do they carry Rainbow Audio speakers over there? I do personally like the Hertz Hi-Energy HKS165 but preferred the Rainbows better. Also have you heard a Morel setup over there? I think you should stick to passive but if you do want to go active a simple inexpensive 2-way setup that i would recommend would be the Seas Neo (textile or aluminum) and a Seas RNX mid or Peerless Exclusive.
I hope that helps :)
