I don't have a private garage, and I'm not cutting wood in my kitchen.

Is there anyone here that builds quality boxes or can refer me to someone who does? My local install shops charge too much and want my car all day. I can provide the dimensions, I need a box finished in black carpet for a single 10" sub.

Thank yee. :D

is it a simple box out of 3/4" mdf or 1/2" mdf or do you want fiberglassed?

3/4" MDF.

The topic reply emails for this aren't being sent.

when do you need it built by and how much are you looking to spend? Im willing to help you out. Just be aware that depending on its size, shipping will be pricey. Id only do paypal if I was to be your builder. I will use 3/4" MDF and wood glue and air compressor. I already have the black carpet so thats easy.

Air compressor? As soon and as cheap as possible, what else would I say? :D

I was just talking with MrMarv and he says he has a couple of 10 inch boxes laying around [still need carpetting, but these are great boxes ].

Some glue and carpet or texture paint,etc..,

No, that was a search for 10" subwoofer box. Not sealed, not empty enclosures, not boxes that fit the dimensions of my car. It included used boxes loaded with subs, home audio and wiring and accessories. If a prefab box would work, I wouldn't need anyone's helping typing words into an eBay search box.

If you were to look around [ read the OP ], a$$hole, you'd know that.

it doesnt look like either one of those is built out of 3/4" MDF like the OP is requesting and I doubt they are built to spec for his sub. Plus he wants black carpet
How can we know if they're built to spec, they don't list any. But a$$hole needs his 16 posts for the day, why would he start replying on topic now? He didn't get 4k+ posts in 9 months by taking the time to read before posting a reply.

Does this place have an ignore button? ;)

bobditts, smgreen20, Thumper26, unpredictableacts- Thanks for the offers, I appreciate it. I won't be able to take the final measurements until tonight, I'll post them when I do.

I should also mention that I prefer screws over nails for sub boxes, let me know if that eliminates any of you from the list. :)

Screws over nails? They're only there to hold it in place while the glue dries man...

The gray box was $17.50 shipped at the end of the auction :D

You are bidding on a 10" single subwoofer enclosure. It is 10"deep,13.5" tall, and 14.5" wide. It is in excellent shape and has no rips or marks. Good luck bidding and thnks for checking the product out.

Any particular reason why? Wood glue and nails from an air compressor are much stronger.

The only box I've ever had a problem with used nails. That could have been the builder, I doubt you'd use the equipment you do if it didn't do the job.

Here are the final dimensions:
H: 12"
W: 17"
D1: 7"
D2: 9"
http://i29.tinypic.com/33vg3e0.png

I'd also like an additional 3/4" piece of MDF on the face (angled front) to flush mount the sub, which does add 3/4" to the top/bottom depths.
Subwoofer cutout diameter: 9.1" (231.14mm)
Outer diameter cutout (for flush mounting): 10.31" (261.94mm)
I'm using an Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1 subwoofer.

bobditts- You're the closest to me, so shipping would cheapest from you. I sent you an email in case you're not subscribed here. :)

Because it's a sound strategy for keeping costs down? I would have suggested Mr. Marv also but he's all the way in Central Cali. Shipping would be unkind!

doubling up the baffle looks like it might get a little tricky ?{down at the bottom edge}

Why? It's just an angle cut on the top and bottom of the baffle. The dimension of the bottom board would need to be extended slightly for a flush fit.

Just a suggestion to cut down on shipping

Cut the pieces for him, pre drill the holes and send it with some carpet. lay the pieces flat in a box and shipping will be cheaper (for those who bill weight/volume)

That's actually not a bad idea. Anyone could put it together, carpeting it would require some skill and work space though.

what if I added a ring to the front of the enclosure and used body filler to make a smooth curvy transition?

Bob, did you make this for him ?

I could also help you out with the box, although I like to use lead instead of MDF...
