I have always used MDF enclosures ranging .5-.75" thick. I have noticed in my searching on fiberglass that it seems fiberglass enclosures are .125" max. How do you know when you get your glass enclosure thick/stiff enough to get the performance of a rock solid MDF enclosure?

I shoot for at least 3/8" personally. If you're running major SPL levels you might need to go higher. I find that 1/4" is still too thin and will flex under hand pressure.

So, it's more of a feeling from experience? Should I feel good as long as it doesn't "flex under pressure"... I assume that means all I can apply....

Well, it's somewhat easy to judge based on what weight mat you're using. If you're going to use 1 1/2 oz mat you might only need 4 layers...if it's 3/4 oz then yo're going to need 6-8 layers...see where I'm going? The biggest issue will be the edges where you mount your baffle.
