question number one. What would be the effects (positive and negative) of running a pair of 4 ohm 10s and a single D4 15 off of the same mono amp (each in recommended boxes, not together)
question number two. if given the choice, would you run a single, higher quality 15 or a pair of middle line 15s, why? |

1. cancellation and an even more unbalanced FR.
2. what determines higher quality, more powerhandling and xmax? if they're both good designs then i'd do 2 midline 15's... but why would you need to |

I really dont have the mounting depth to fit a higher end 15. I figure in general a middle of the road sub had a shallower mounting depth than a higher end one. are there ant higher end 15s with a mounting depth around 7 inches? After 7 inches ill need to get real creative to fit one. WHy would I need 2 15s? To fill the cab of my truck of course. i have a mega cab dodge which is like an SUV with a bed

Aurasound 15" ?
http://www.madisound.com/pdf/aurasound/NS15-992-4A.pdf Oh god, nevermind. I mis-read the depth to be 182mm, not 282mm... that's 11.5" deep! |

Their website leaves a lot to be desired but they are still working on it.
It is my understanding that they were not going to add the IDQ15 to the new site until the new version (v.3) is released. The current version is still available at woofersetc.com (authorized dealer) and all of the specs should still be on the ID site. http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_ID=2036 |

how About opinions on that ID vs a RE SE or even an SX 15. They have a 7.75 inch mounting depth so Id have to be creative but it seems I would be overpowering the ID a little (1100 WATTS VS 800 RATED FOR THE SUB)

The amplifier on my IDQ15 is rated at 1800 watts at 14v. That doesn't however mean the IDQ ever sees 1800 watts.
Probably the least important spec, to me, when choosing a subwoofer to play music, is the thermal power handling rating. |
