Default Value of some older Hifonics amps?

My buddy has some older Hifonics amps. I think they may be built by Zed, but I don't know too much about Zed to know if that's the case. One of the amps has "True Warrior" i believe written on the top. The other is an older Zeus. I think one is 50x4 and the other is 400x1

There's no replacement for displacement

It depends on the series and condition. Most people consider the Series VII and VIII to be the best. I sold my Series VII Hercules for $155. It was in very good shape. There is a Series VII Zeus with a bid of $400 on eBay right now. I think $400 is overpriced for the Zeus. Someone must really want it badly. I'd say $275 is a good price for a Zeus, but evidently someone on eBay thinks it's worth more.

400 for a Zeus is ignorant as hell. You can get the Deuce for that money and it not only has better specs, but you don't have to worry about 20 year old components (particularly electrolytic caps) failing.

Near as I know, Generation X is the last Zed made Hifonics. Pre series VII were good for their time, but why bother these days? VII and VIII do seem to be the most sought after.

Look for the "Made in USA" prominenently marked on the heat sink, or just pop it open. All the old Zed amps say "Handcrafted in the USA", "Made in the USA" or one of those with "by Zed Audio" on the board, and some even have other clever phrases. Also if the board has gobs of hot melt glue in it that's a good sign it isn't a Zed build. Check Ampguts, and you can see how Stephen lays out his amps, they generally have a familiar look to the boards once you look at a few. Not saying there aren't a few odd-balls out there, but you can tell for sure on most of them with a quick peek at the internals.

The "Warrior" ones are definitely not Zed made, and the good Zeus's are marked "600 Watts". Maxxonics has been riding the Zeus name for 15 years or so off of how good those were in the day and have named half their amps Zeus.
