Default Well Worth the wait.

well there was a lot of controversy over the new drivers going into my car. Let me state up front that this set is worth every penny one would pay for it. I was a little skeptical of all the hype and the so called price tag on them. Then I got to thinking about it. How much money do most spend on high quality home set ups? Do we not spend more time in our cars do to commuting and what not? So why not put the very best in your car if you are really serious about your music.

As many of you know my Bimmer was set up for a 3 way active. So when I got the Esotar2 set I also added the 152 for midrange duty. Now with that being said I was asked by the officals at Dyn to run it as a 2 way as well. I have the F1 so I just made another preset.

Now for the performance of the drivers. I am completely speechless. These drivers really bring the music to life. I really felt that I was there live in front of the artist. The 110 tweeter is the best of the best. I hear so much more detail in my music over what I has hearing with the Cal 28 and lets face it that is not a second rate tweeter. The detail is so amazing. I put the 110's in my kicks off axis I was a bit worried about it lowering my sound stage. Not. It did not lower at all in fact it got better. At high volumes it remained true to form. Unlike my cal 28 at high volumes the linearity was not effected at all. There tweets are very laid back and really show off the artist vocal range. I put in some Christina Aguliara and Marah Carery to give that a test.

The mid/midbass is where I had my biggest doubts because I was going down in size in driver. Once again my doubts were put t bed. Very snappy midbass hits pretty hard especially for a 6.5 driver. I may have gainded more in the midbass range. Now the switch to 2 way mode and holy shit. This sounded better than me running it as a 3 way. The only problem that I had running it in the 2 way mode is where that driver is located. It brought my stage back a little bit. But other than that it is excellent.

Let me sum this up becasue I dont want to be long winded. This is what car audio is supposed to be about. This is pure sonic nirvana. I simply can not get out of my car. I am even making this post while in my car listening to it. I dont care what they charge for these drivers they are worth every penny if you are serious about your music and what the best experience humanly possible. To me this is the last set of drivers that will be in this car. I have found what I have been looking for. I really hope that others to get the opportunity to listen to these driver. I am alway open to giving demos if anyone makes it out to Kansas.

Ok here are a few pictures for ya. The drivers are not sealed. I am using a Sinfoni 120.4 to run the tweets and the mids and a bridged 50.4 on the midbass. The grills are from the Esotec 162's. And no offense but Rockfords dont belong anywhere near the Esotar2 set up. I am thinking of hooking up my Billets to it and see how it does and do a A/B between the Tru's and Sinfoni's.

Good stuff, I'm glad you enjoy your new speakers. What was it about the 2way setup that shined over the 3way? I'm thinking it wouldn't be the stage, because you went a little bit over that.

I generally go ... this is good but not great...I tune...amazing...a few days go by...bah, it's alright. Then I step in some other car and I happily realize how far I've come and covertly I do the silent nodding and satisfaction grins, is what I call...utopia

It is not that it shined over the 3 ways it was just amazing that it played just as well. The 6.5 played the midbass and midrange flawlessly as if it was a 3 way. that is what I ment.

Nice review thanks. I think you should stick to 2 way and use dual esotar mids instead of MW152 . How are the subs over the outgoing ones.

I subs lay the smack down on the out gone Rainbow Profi's. Nah if I go dual 160's that means refabing my doors and I really dont feel like going through all that. Plus that is pointless might as well keep the 152's in there if I am going to just add another driver.
