Ok, hopefully a lot of you know about this, but if not I wanted to let you know.

I ran this by Ant and he said it was OK to post in this section (I didn't want it to be SPAM since it's coming from me, so I had to make sure).

Anyway, we will be giving away a previous generation Mag (technically a current gen until the new Mag's come out) at the end of this week. How do you enter? Sign up for our forum and/or our newsletter.

I can't wait until next time I fly home to Charlotte for a visit. I'm going to swing by and meet both of you. It's really cool to see "hometown boys" doing well.

Do either of you remember a guy named Scott Cureton? He used to compete in SQ in IASCA back in the early 90's. He worked at one of the major stores back in the day on Independence Blvd in Charlotte. His comp car was a purple Ford Probe GT.

Nice! It is always great to meet locals interested in the hobby. I've been to Mooresville a few times, nice place! Great dragstrip out there too...

Holy crap! All of this local talk on DIYMA is pretty cool.

PS: Mooresville's drag stip is slippery and slow...and only 1/8 mile long. Not my cup of tea, but I suppose it's better than nothing. :)

I don't remember Scott C. Then again, I only talk to a few local SQ geeks because a lot of the ones around here at local shops are stuck up.

That has been my experience too. I don't like most of the shops around here. I have gone to about 80% on line here recently for ordering my parts and equipment. I had no idea though that you guys were so close.

I have a friend that races Mooresville with two cars and he can't even run his turbo mustang anymore due to the track condition. We are looking forward to the one here in Concord being constructed beside Lowes Motor Speedway. Actually, the new track is about 2 miles from my house. You can see the Speedway stands from my backyard.

I grew up halfway in between Charlotte and Rockingham. So we always just went to Rockingham if we wanted to drag.

There were some other guys too that were in IASCA back in the early 90's, but I haven't had to think of their names in so long I can't remember them. Go figure. But those guys are the ones that got me into SQ back in my Jr. and Sr. years of high school.
