Default Install Help

Hey, I'm in the middle of my install and I just can't get my subs to work. I'm getting very frustrated so I figure I'd post it up here for one of you veterans to solve. Sorry if this is in the wrong place.

I'll try and be as detailed as possible. Here's my list of items

Pioneer DEH-P5000ub HU (alread installed)
PG RSD65CS (to be installed later)
Cadence TXA-1502 to power PG's
Cadence TXA-3002 to power sub
1 12" Alpine Type R Dual 2 ohm

Okay, so I spent yesterday installing the two amps and the 12" type R. The TXA-1502 was already installed, I had a sub running off of it earlier, but I decided to get a bigger amp and sub and use the 1502 for my comps. I put in a 4 awg wire from the battery to a distribution block in the trunk, then I have two 8 awg wires going to each amp. The remote wire is going from the HU to the 1502, then from the 1502 to the 3002. The grounds are both 4awg wires (is that too big?).

When I turn the car on, both amps get power (LED light comes on). But when I hook up the sub nothing happens. I know the sub is working because when I hook it up to the 1502, the sub moves A LITTLE bit. The sub should be hitting pretty hard with the 1502, but it is barely moving. Then I make sure the settings are the same on the 3002, but the sub doesn't move at all. What can i do to fix this? What are the common problems?

Things I've double, triple, quadruple checked...
RCA's are plugged in correctly. One set from the SW output of the HU to the 3002. One set from the "Front" output of the HU to the 1502.

I've made sure to wire the Type R to take 4 ohms, which matches up with the amp.

Sorry for the long post...i'm just getting really frustrated.

Default Re: Install Help

the deck could have a sub off setting keeping it from seeing a signal or the sub could be wired out of phase from the coils, which would keep it from doing anything also

The deck does have a sub off setting, but I turned it to on. I had a sub working fine off of this HU just a week ago. What does it mean for the sub to be wired out of phase from the coils? I used the provided cable to wire the + of one coil to the - of the other. Then the remaining + and - to the speaker terminals

flip the = and - at the amp to see if there is an improvement. where are your gains set? does your head unit have an adjustable sub level?

try just wiring one of the coils and see if it moves then. if the coils are wired with one of them trying to push out and at the same time the other coil is trying to pull in then the driver just sits there and gets brutalized while doing nothing but hoping to not melt.

I've tried switching the + and - as well. Oh yea, and I have the amp set at low pass too. There are some sub settings. You can go "normal" "reverse" or "off". Also, you can mess with the hZ settings too. The gains are all in the normal upright position...how the amp came. I don't think the gains would cause the sub to not move at all
