Well since they are giving them away, I went and got stupid and got this:
It came with a nice double din opening, 6.5's in the doors, and tweets up in the A-pillars. The equipment going in: Zuki Amps, Seas Lotus Drivers, and my Mag. The biggest bonus to the new truck is this: Real Estate ![]() ![]() ![]() Now the only dilemma is which to run ![]() Still dealing with a blockage in my radial artery and am gimpin' without my left hand, but as soon as I can grip a screwdriver....we'll be off and running. |

Well been a little bit, but here is a quick run down how to tear down the door panels on the new body style trucks.
Starts with removing the sail panels and removing 5 bolts. Bolt 1 and 2 are located under the trim ring on the grab bar Bolt 3 is behind a little pop out panel under the door handle And 4 and 5 are under another little pop out panel under the door pull GM was good enough to provide some foam in the sail panel to kill any noise coming from the mirror mount And checkout the factory sound proofing pad the put between the door panel and the door |

Finally got her nekid and could see what need sealing up
The factory driver could easily be upgraded to an 8" as there is plenty of real estate under there. And finally after sealing up the holes with aluminum flashing we have it looking like this now Now I have to admit, I took it for a little ride to the grocery store and have to say that Ant has a great product with the Damplifier Pro. The doors shut with a solid thud, there is a noticeable difference in pitch with the knuckle rap test, and finally there is a very noticeable difference in how much more the cabin quieted down with just doing the doors. Tomorrow i plan on doing the back doors and building the baffles for my mids. I am really leaning towards putting the tweets down in the kicks aimed slightly up and to the center of the cabin and seeing what kind of results I can get from there. |

Now as you can see in the previous pics...at least the driver side...the amount of factory wiring that had to be moved. Well let's do it....start with 100 feet of 16 Gauge cut into 18 inch jumpers
Started on passenger side and started the process And then tackled the driverside What a mess, but here is the done shots |
