I helped my Uncle move this weekend

So I helped my uncle move this weekend, my job was to clean the garage, which btw was a pita. I ended up finding some boxes some where tucked behind a cabinet others were sitting on a board on the beams of the garage roof. He has been married for las 5yrs so they have been sitting in the garage since he got married, had a kid, and moved into that house(the house he is now moving out of) so its been collecting dust. He told me I could take them, I said why not :) I could really read the articles :rolleyes:.


Anywho, about 3 decades worth, not a complete collection but a ton still imo. In pic thats just the Playboy collection not the Penthouse collection I have in another box :o

Ohhh, some classics there....is the last stapled issue there? that should be worth something by now, it has Madonna on the cover. Also, the cover with Dita on it. Keep it, she is the next bettie page. Nice woman, very driven.

PB is soooo "vanilla" but, I've seen the Maddona one, my dad has it...

He had one when I was a kid, with marlin monroe, me being a kid, not knowing what was in front of my, decided it would be a good idea to take it, and take it to school... Yeah I was that cool in 4th grade, couldn't understand why pops beat the living hell out of me for it... Till YEARS later, when I learned the value of "old" things...

Now, I kick myself for it from time to time..

Vanilla or not, they seem to be rather collectable. I nabbed a collection much like Mir's but all olser, from the mid 70's on up. Mostly staple bound. Ton of Penthouse too.

who would have thought that such publications would be collectables. The funny thing is that in the mid seventies when I was still in Iran (of all places), my dad had amassed a large collection of Playboy's as well. Of course, I had NO idea what I was looking at.

I actually read a few of the Playboys today. For the first time without lookin straight at the nudes. The magazine is pretty dam good. It doesn't seem offensive at all to women IMO. Its definatly classy, I would not be embarrased to have an issue on my coffee table at all. I stuck a few in behind my seat in car in that pouch too :)

Playboy was always good about reviewing and advertising cutting edge gear, you know guys like toys :D

It's fun to look thru the older ones for that very reason.

was flying back from an 8th grade trip to dc and sat next to the teacher from dc to dfw. don't know how the convo swayed this way but he said he read playboy cuz he liked the articles. he was a helluva teacher and def one of my favorites ever.

I looked at one the other day from 4-5 years ago and they were talking about a home theater computer with a "massive" 3TB of storage for $27k. 3TB is nothing now that we're dealing with HD video files. Starts to make some of this stuff seem futile because you always find yourself playing catch up.

THats the reason I used to grab the 70's issues from comic conventions.

Good 'ol Tony The Cowboy had every conceivable article of smutt known to man.....even some vintage '20's private photos...those were fun to look through.
