Well, almost finish with my sub box. Its a .65cu ft sealed box for 2 8" Diamond Subs with space to mount my Next 5.500 flush in the center.

Its nowhere near some of the more complex sub box/amp racks you see around here but it meets all the criteria I laid out of it:
1) must keep access to spare
2) need to keep pass through accessible....my 6 year old loves it
3) functionality over style
4) minimum space loss

I would of like more of a stealth look but ended up being nearly impossible without raising the floor a significant amount and/or lossing the tire. Its pretty far back in the trunk even though it doesn't appear it, so atleats its not all up in your face. I wanted the amp a little lower than the subs but a slight  volume miscalculation forced me to raised the top of the amp flush with the baffle. The only thing left is to make the cover over the amp ends so its flush all the way across. But this Friday, we're due to induce are second child so doubt I'll have any spare time to finish for awhile. Still hoping it sounds good.

and one image just to show it for you:

Sorry, the pics don't do it justice. The tolerances are extremelly tight, especially around the amp. The drivers are counter-sunk into the baffles and the front edge is rounded to match the lines of the amp. Anyways, I'm pretty happy with it. Now just gotta install the rest of the system.

So it's an upfiring setup or am I just looking at it wrong??

How does it sound, and what model Diamonds are they?

I'm curious as to how it sounds also. I've never had much luck with that firing configuration. Usually you get decent upper range but non existant deep bass.

Yep, they are firing straight up. No idea how it sounds yet....no power ran yet. Pretty much waiting to do the whole system at once. Just exciting to finish all the fab work on this. The Diamonds are CM3's. I'm hoping it sounds good. If not, maybe I'll try porting them if I can find the room before moving on to a larger driver. I really don't need much output out of the subs to be happy. I like heavy midbass. :D

Follow the link in the first post and theirs a few of it installed, although I use the term loosely and it basically just sits in the back corner. I'll be anchoring it down once I run the wires. Carpet actually matches much better than what the pictures show....I guess the flash really brings out the tonal difference alot more.
