After a loooong week of waiting, it finally arrived: the cheap, but hopefully high-quality addition to Project Not Yet Installed; a Xtant 4180c :) This sexy thing will be pushing a set of Hertz Space K8L. I were originally considering the Genesis Profile Two for its low weight, but it costs a wee bit more than the Xtant. And I had already had my eyes on the Xtant for quite some time, so why not give it a go. It should be some good, old "oldschool SQ"...
I`m in the middle of cleaning the inside of my Fiat (yes, a Fiat) so everything is ready for some thorough (?) sound deadening. I`ll try to post some pics sometime tomorrow or something. Too busy going at it to remember to use the camera...
Anyway.. Gentlemen, I bring you.. The Xtant!

Not bad at all for a total of just $242, delivered to my door up here in the cold north (where the Seas grow?) :p
A big thanks to JNMaudio @ eBay :D

I have another 4180 if you need one. Mine is not quite as nice but does not have any major scratches.

Make sure you power that thing on right away and play it for awhile. My refurb Xtant 302a from JNMaudio did this after less than an hour of play on my CDT mids:

I'm going to send it back to them to fix, but still should have lasted more than an hour! FYI, Jake is fixing it for the cost of shipping both ways and I have to pay $10 for the parts. So far, the customer service is ok, just wish it would have lived a bit longer, two hours at least!! :D

Hopefully you will love your 4140c as much as I did mine. I would still have it except it died too. However, I had mine for about 8 years. I replaced it with a USAmps 5600x. I think I liked my 4140c better. Good luck with your install.

XTRMEASURES, Finleyville: thanks :)
Mike: IŽll let you know ;)
Coffee_junkee: I bought this one without warranty, as it probably would be much more expencive to ship it back and forth to Jake than to just let the local repairman give it a go. I`ll just have to try not to buy one of the other old-school amps he has lying around... :D

A little pic of the car.. a 1994 Fiat Punto. In these twelve years it has covered 167.770 miles with hardly any problems :) Plans for next year is tuning the 1242 ccm engine to a "whopping" 120 bhp, breaking the 100 hp/litre barrier. 120 hp isn`t much, but the car doesnt weigh more that 850 kilos.. This gives a hp to weight ratio of 7.08 kg pr. horsepower. A Cadillac Escalade 6.0 V8 (350 bhp) has a hp to weight ratio of 7.22.....

I`m very pleased. Crisp, very detailed sound without beeing harsh og cold. And the dynamics... :o I`m not selling mine!

I don`t think we have. There`s a few H2`s and such. With the H3 costing $64.648 (!) with two seats, I don`t dare think about a "full-seater" Escalade

I once had a Uno Turbo, it gave the expression "driving pleasure" a new meaning. :D

Nice addition! The car reminds me on the little Prizm we have sitting in the driveway.
