H701
Neo3s in a-pillars on-axis
Exclusive 5.25"s in sealed kicks
CSC-X 10"s in sealed midbass enclosures(doors)
(2)Audioque HD3 18"s in a huge ported box tuned to 35Hz
RF T15004 for midbass and midrange drivers
RF T5002 for tweeters
RF T40001bd for subs
Kinetik HC2400
Dom 220amp alt
Thats what I will eventually have(ETA is to be completed by January), my temporary setup ill be running for now consists of a D900, Neo3s, Exclusives, (2)Mach5Audio 10"s, RF 360a2, MTX 8102, DEI 1500D and the Iraggi alt(already installed). Ill just be using the built in crossovers on the amps to do active for now, unfortunately.
Anyways, on to the pics...

Those are Mach5audio 10"s that will be my temporary subs, sure do look like the Dayton Refs though :) Peerless CSC-X 10"s will be the midbass drivers, I just wish Dayton made the RS270s in a non-shielded version... How hard would it be to debuck those magnets on the RS270s?

How does the HD3 sound? Ill be testing and tuning the whole system with Tool's lateralus cd, as thats what I tune every system with :) I've heard that CD on some B&W 801Ds, so that gives me quite a reference to refer to...

Haha, I grew up in Bryan/College Station most of my life before the family moved out of state....funny how defensive I would get of Aggies/jokes after moving away - and after telling so many myself back in Texas :)
BTW, install looks like it'll be awesome....last time I remember someone doing 10s was the owner? of the old SIN forum...installed Brahma 10s in the front doors :o

Itll be a while before I can drop the money for the HD3 18"s and T40001, so ill be running (4) Mach5audio 10"s off a DEI 1500D at .5ohms for now. Here is the beginning of the enclosure

Stripped out my car last night, figured I would take a pic of the sounddeadening. I used 5 gallons of Second Skin sludge, and didnt even do the doors since I ran out... Ill be ordering some Magic Mate 400 to use for the doors outer skins shortly :D

Got some more work done between tonight and last night. The enclosure is done, sans the gasket foam(I wont be covering it, since its only temporary). Hopefully ill get all the lighting done by tomorrow night, so I can start aiming the kicks on saturday/sunday. On to the pics...
Quite a modified dome light assembly

by the looks of the pic of your stripped interior, the left over packing peanuts leads me to believe you were measuring the cubic feet of your cars interior :)

How do you measure volume using packing peanuts? :p
bobditts
08-30-2006, 02:41 PM
for odd shaped fiberglass boxes you can get a pretty close to accurate air space measurement by using packing peanuts.

nice bracing , thats some expensive wood just for bracing, why not mdf?

08-31-2006, 12:58 PM
Thanks for the humorous replies guys :) I actually had my box that I recived my D900 in, and it fell over and peanuts went everywhere :(
Newtitan- While MDF bracing might have been ok, the 2x4s are cheap and effective, not to mention really, really ridgid...
No new pictures to update ya with, but I just finished all the lighting on monday night, finished all the first stage of wiring on tuesday night, went to the Astros game last night, and FINALLY have some sound as of this morning! Just made some new baffles for the Exclusives for my door, because im waiting to get my H701 and new amp to aim the mids/highs.
The exclusives sound wonderful considering they arent even low-passed and running free-air... Listening to Jambi cranked up loud on the way to work was so satisfying :D Just being powered off the RF 360a2 they have more than enough power, so ill end up using a T8004 for my mids/highs and a T8002 for the midbass...
I just hope I have time tonight to just throw the Neo3s in there somehow, but if I dont I still can enjoy the music :)
I have to get my budget straight for next month, then ill let everyone know what will be coming up shortly!

That was just a burned copy of Jambi, and I had the windows down so I wasnt critically listening or anything... Their Lateralus cd is my reference cd, as I've heard it on multiple car systems(even a car with the utopia be no.5 set, VRx amps, H701, awesome install), B&W 801Ds, Revel F32s, etc...

dont know how i missed this thread (i just saw it in your away message). Everything looks good and I hate you for having sound!
Your estimated time of completion is probably around the same time as mine. I have all the equipment though...just lack of time. (I still need some batteries and a alternator though, batteries should be coming when i get paid in a week).
I'm working on getting you the 2/0 though. I have it ran under the cab, i just have to put it from the tool box to the cab and a ground from the tool box to frame(for the batteries) and then a few extra feet for the ground for the 40001. Should have that done not this weekend but the next.
keep up the good work
-Cody
looking good, but there is one thing that is eating me. is that black pvc tape on your harness. if it is shame on you.
Damn that car is going to be a DOG with all that equipment and huge box in it! Gonna sound damn nice though :)
