open baffle...baffle design ?s

I was curious if when building an open-baffle speaker if you could extend some baffles down the side to lower the 6dB rolloff point and not get any negative effects?

kind of like an open-back conventional box

well u dont want to make it like a conventional box that looks like Ll but more like \_/ with baffle angling. the whole point is to increase the surface area of the baffle to lower the freq. roll off.
