I just purchased a new Acura RSX Type S. I love the car but it is pretty noisy. I would like to deaden the car but would like to deaden the noisest areas first and see how effect that is. Does anyone have particular experience to the most effective areas to deaden this car?

I'd personally target these areas: wheel wells, under the rear seat (exhaust piping tends to run under there and it gets noisy), doors, in the hatch area.
Hell just do the whole car.
Also, use closed cell foam on top of the sound deadener...while the SD will help get rid of resonances, the foam helps absorb sound, which will help a lot in terms of getting rid of alot of unwanted noises.

You get a forum discount if you email Rick too.
Does he usually respond to PM's? I sent one to him a few days ago and haven't gotten a response yet.

I have an RSX and if you are putting speakers in the doors.......DEADEN the CRAP out of them! If you want to know anything about the car, give me a holla!

Use this (http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27) thread as a starting point. It goes over very well of a basic HOW TO of sound deadening...of course each car is different so you'll have to adapt accordingly.
I put two layers on the outer part of my door then a layer of the CCF. Then I sporadically put pieces on the inner part of my door (part directly behind door panel) I didn't do the entire thing, because even though my Volkswagen has very solid doors...there are lots of groves and crevices on the panel and after working on it for two days I was getting frustrated (I broke my window clips in the process). I half assed it, but I'll do it right eventually.
My car comes pretty well deadened from the factory, but just doing both front doors greatly reduced road and wind noise...eventually (probably over the summer) I'll do the rest of the car

Sorry buddy, I just have not been able to keep up with the number of emails and PMs I am getting, insanely busy for this time of the year and I forgot to look here, oops! :(
I have to take my kids out, big dinner being put together for my daughters birthday, I will get to your PM tomorrow, I promise.
Sincerely,
Rick

I would PM miztahsparklez on this forum. His RSX is about as dead as a coffin!! He did an incredible job on it and I'm sure that he would have plenty of valuable information for you. Hope that helps.
