So for those who dont know, I work for Eurofresh Farms (www.eurofresh.com)
We just finished constructing the new greenhouse site and it was planted on Thursday of the past week. Here is what hydroponic greenhouse tomato transplants look like. The greenhouse itself consists of 8 compartments, each compartment 1.4 metric hectares or 3.5 acres each. The dimensions of each compartment are 220 meters long by 64 meters wide. With a center pathway at the 108.5 meter mark. The height is 6 meters to the rain gutters. So in total my new greenhouse is 11.2 metric hectares (or 112,000 sq meters) or roughly 28 acres. Each compartment holds 51,000 tomato plants, and my total area holds over 400,000 plants. Anywho, the structure and total build cost including packhouse costs roughly $22 million, thats correct $22 million. So the tomatoes I grow are not your average backyard variety, these are the top quality tomatoes you see in the grocery store that costs $2.99 per lb. Company wide we are over 220 acres of growing area and produced last year over 100 million pounds of tomatoes. Anywho enough of my crap, here are some pictures:

The funny part is that the company is a Dutch owned company, but we cant have any of that kind of stuff in the greenhouse (I dont care for it anywho). The liability of having a legal problem like that with a $100+ million company is just to great a risk.

No those are roller seats used for doing work low on the crop, so that the workers can sit down and roll on the pipes.

Wow that's awesome, I have been a fan of your company since I saw them on sale at a local grocery store. Went home and looked up the company a long time ago. I'm a HUGE Hydroponics fan, no not in the street slang sense. I used to grow orchids, big HID lights, Misting system... not quite hydroponic, but my parent's basement at the time didn't suit a full blown system. Someday I hope to have a nice hydro system in a small greenhouse. That's sooo cool... Wish I was closer would LOVE to see the nutrient management stuff, as well as different environmental controls...

Do you use CO2 enrichment?
