Default WTT: Infinity Kappa Perfect 12VQ

Due to size restrictions, I am looking to possibly trade my Infinity Kappa Perfect 12VQ for a DIYMA 12. I will post specs after class here and pics when I get home.

If I can't trade it, I would be willing to sell it for $140 (just enough to get a DIYMA shipped)

Thanks.

-Brad

Bump!

Willing to sell for $160 including the box. For another $15 I will throw in a brand new speaker grill.

The sub has a small mark on it from when it tipped over in the trunk. It does not affect the performance and once the grill is on you won't even be able to notice. The sub has only been used for about 3 months and never received more than 400 watts.

Specs...

MSRP U.S. $: $279.95 each
Power Handling, RMS: 400 Watts
Power Handling, Peak: 1600 Watts
Sensitivity: 89dB
Frequency Response (±3dB): 25Hz - 400Hz
Mounting Depth: 7"
Impedance: 4 Ohms

I will post up pics when I get home.

I'm confused, are you looking to downsize your box? If you go with Nguyen's recommendation of .5 ft3 (Qb of .7), and equivalent setup would be to get a .75 ft3 box with the low Q insert. Maybe that is a big deal in your setup, I don't know.

Were you looking for the Mid Q so you could have a complete set to sell the VQ, or have your plans changed?

I personally haven't heard either sub, but have heard good things about both. I don't know if it is sacreligious to compare the two since one is mass produced and the other was designed by none other than the moderator of this forum...

I can tell you that I bought the VQ originally to go IB, but plans have changed. I wouldn't have minded a couple of DIYMAs (small sealed boxes) in my setup, but I wouldn't have had much power to throw at them (150W at 4ohms, 250 at 2).

Good luck with your sale and future plans...

The plan was to get a MidQ Insert for my current 1.0ft^3 box but now that I am putting the sub in the back corner, I won't have as much room.

I am having two false walls on both sides of the trunk. One will have the amp behind it and the other will have the sub on it. If I have the DIYMA mounted on the wall then I will create a box behind it that is 13" high by 13" wide by 7" deep (hopefully). That will give me .685 ft^3 minus .15 for the sub's displacement (at least that's what I thought it was) which will give me .535 internal volume. Now add in the fact that 3/4" MDF will be the walls and you get 1.034ft^3 total.

At least I hope I did that right, it was 12 last night when I was calculating and it was just after I finished a paper for school.

I just feel that the DIYMA would be better suited for my install now. Sale is pending though because a friend of mine might pick it up.

I can't wait for my DIYMA and JBL GTO755.6!!

Oops!... my apologies...

Sale is still pending, I am showing my friend the sub tomorrow and if he backs out then it's up for $160 shipped. That is the speaker and box (not including grill) but I can order a grill from PE and put it on for another $15.

Nice sub. I loved my 2 10's when I had them.
