60 bucks for the 10", 70 for the 12".
My understanding is that these are pretty nice subs. Price seems pretty good to me for some nice old school subs. Check out the efficiency rating on them, good if you are running a relatively low power sub amp.

thanks for the fix on the linkage, clearly I'm dumb. In any case, I'm considering picking up a pair of the 12's. Anyone have direct experience with these? The manual I found says they work in small enclosures.

I had them a while ago. Ok subs but even for 70 bucks, theres other options that are better. Cheap foam surround, stamped basket and paper cone. For 70, Id rather buy a JBL Gto

i would have to disagree, as i thought these were great when they came out. as far as the basket, it seems at the time these were out jl did the same thing :o . i had one of these and loved it, not sure how the sq was because i just wanted loudness then  i dont see the surrounds being an issue either.....and the cone is pulp iirc.

Yeah, but they use the stupid 2.83v numbers.. equates to 2 watts/1 meter.
So minus 3 db on the efficiency rating if you want to bring it down to the rating most other manufacturers use. 91 db at 1w/1m is still impressive, however.

when i looked at the specs earlier i thought there is no way they are that efficient! just by memory i was thinking of how much power it seemed they like. so you clearing that up makes me feel dumb :(

not a bad driver but def not a sq driver. they can get loud in small boxes and they used to be able to take a hell of a beating. not sure anymore them being power acoustik now.. some of the ss subs are damn nice but i havent used a spl one in a long time

Parts express had some NOS Exacts about 3 or 4 months ago. Almost jumped on them. I'd note, I believe these subs are from before the power acoustic buyout.
91db efficiency is still pretty damn high considering the average 12 these days is what, 86-88 db efficient?

That's not a "real" EXACT. A real EXACT had a copper-ish colored logo on the cone. The dustcap was inverted as well and was poly.
That's an Exact II or something goofy like that in the link.
Here's a "real" Exact10. http://www.epinions.com/elec-Car_Stereo-Speakers-All-Soundstream_Exact_10?sp=ielec

I purchased an Exact from that same seller. It has the same basket, cone and specs as the old exact. Sounded great, not as good as the old reference subs but still a great sub. I believe the SPL line ended when PA bought out soundstream. They should be NOS.

I don't think it's right to say that it's not a real Exact. Maybe it is a newer or updated version, but you make it sound like it's a fake Soundstream. I'm no SS expert, but that seems like a genuine sub to me. It doesn't say Exact II on the box or the sub anywhere either. I'm not arguing the fact that it's not an original model with the blue basket, but it's still a Soundstream Exact sub.

The second Gen. Exact is nearly the same driver as the original with the differences being cosmetics and the second Gen have copper in the gap. So in theory the second Gen should be an improvement over the first Gen.
I have heard both and owned a 10" second Gen and there was very little to no difference between them.

I own two first gen Exact 12's one is NIB and the other I repaired. V.1 has copper in the gap. The literature for the Exact subs even mentions this as a feature. I wish I still had the 30 pics I took as I repaired it.

I've owned, sold and installed the originals and heard the Exact II (we dropped SS just before Donna sold the company) and it walks all over the Exact II. Personally anything after the PA buyout isn't in the same league as the pre-buyout gear. That's why I don't call the Exact IIs "real" Exacts.
