I have stumbled upon 2 pairs of cheap wideband midrangers for a pretty good deal. First there is the
A3SII http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=299-117
and the
A3N http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=299-118
I purchased both with a Dayton ND20FA and am going to find out which ones work best on my dash in stock locations. Afterwards I think I am going to pick up a pair of tg9's and maybe a pair of rs52's to see how they compare.

I might pick up both pairs to test out against my TG9s :) Wonder how hard it is to debuck the shielding magnet?

well i received all of the speakers but one of the A3SII's has a dented cone and bent basket. They seem to have nice build quality besides the fact that somewhere before shipping it received the dented cone, because the Styrofoam it was in and the box around it was fine through the shipping process.
On a side note, they don't seem like they would be all that challenging to debuck.

:whs:
Are they an aluminum cone or a poly cone? The description is conflicting.

Parts exspress rocks, they are going to ship out a pair of A3SII to make up for my dented one, and don't even want me to return the messed up one. I will let you know how they sound in a little while.

sorry, i haven't had a chance to listen to them installed yet, as school has been working me hard lately. I have just listened to them running full range without an enclosure so i don't want to give any false impressions. They will also be compared to a pair of TB 3" full range speakers from the logitech z-560 computer set.
