or you can just run one MiniDSP to the 4 channel amp, and have the subwoofer amp do the crossover/TA for the sub. Depending on your install you might get lucky and it might sound "ok". But you will be leaving a lot on the table in terms of opportunity.

Unfortunately, if you buy two miniDSPs for a standard 5-channel setup then you have 3 open channels staring you in the face, and you start thinking "midbass array with additional derived center channel" and things get kind of squirrely. Which is where I am now.
I understand that part I'm not a basic bitch but I asking about the spdi input specially.

You weren't asking about anything specifically, that's why you got a generic answer https://www.minidsp.com/forum/sugges...-usb-spdif-i2s
I'm still not sure what you're asking, so I'll let you re-ask the question, or go read about the new 2x4HD they just released: https://www.minidsp.com/products/min...minidsp-2x4-hd
'cause I am not sure how or why you intend to turn the S6 3.5mm out into a digital output.

So, can I use this to receive FR L+R outputs from my HU and then have 4 outputs from miniDSP for an active 2 way component set with DSP and x-over for tweets and mids?

Also can I hook the HD model straight to my Samsung S7 phone using asynch usb audio?
