Default Anyone from Indy to help with fiberglassing

Hello,

I know this is a long shot but though I would try anyway.

I live in Anderson, IN just north of Indy and am wondering if anyone on here is also in the Indy area and has a work space. I want to build a sub enclosure. My biggest issue is I have no where to work as I live in a townhouse that does not allow use to work on your cars. I can not do it in side as it the stuff stinks and the wife would not be ok with that. Well, just thought I would ask as you never know.

Thanks All
Josh

If you list the car model/yr, there might be someone who has that car and can build it then ship it to you. Of course it'll cost $300 and up for quality work.

Just an FYI: Fiberglass box building takes 20hrs minimum of work and processes. Mine took like 35hrs because I'm new to glassing and I didn't have the best work space.

Hey thanks for the info but that defeats teh purpose. I could just pick up one of these which is pretty much what I want to do anyway.

2005 -08 Ford Mustang

There is a two fold point of doing it myself
1) learning as I am noob with fiberglassing myself
2) cheaper as it would cost O guessing about 150 to 200 to do it myself. Being that there would not be all that much glassing to do as most of it is 3/4 MDF. Only section that is glassed is top and that will be molded with some streachy fabric. Anyway, I knew it was a long shot.

I possibly could, but it depends on your time frame. It's football and season most, if not all weekend is taken up by that. Plus, last year during the cold months I did a little fiberglassing myself and it filled up the house with fumes. Last year the wife wasn't too happy with that, this year she is pregnant. So if you can't get done soon drop me a line closer to the spring.

Josh,
You have an option it may cost a bit more but it doesn't stink and can be cleaned up with just vinegar, the plus side is its stronger. Epoxy resins when mixed properly have very very little to no odor, if you use peel ply you wont have to sand much if any depending on the finish your looking for. If your going to carpet or vinyl you can lay, scuff with green Scotch pad and spray your glue and go... If no one is able to help you with space and this is your only option send me a PM and I'll send you some product to consider. One last thing, you may be able to rent a storage building for a week or two with power?

Hummmmm

Those are some good ideas. Please send me some more info on the Epoxy Resins. I am very new to Glassing so any info provided would be greatly appriciated.

The renting a Storage place is an ideat too. Never really thought of that.

Thanks
Josh
