not true at all. either front or rear works fine. the chip comes with the units and is smaller than a usb stick. hardly noticeable in the slightest. not sure how your post is valid
DUAL USB inputs (one front & one rear) provide versatility of connectivity. If you want your iPod connected all the time & out of sight...connect it to the rear input & tuck it in your glovebox where it is out of sight, leaving the front USB available for easy connectivity. (The included Bluetooth® kit requires the use of one of the USB inputs).
Thats copied and pasted from the link you provided. It just has to be plugged into one of the USB inputs in order to work. That might be what he meant by that.
