DAMN....if the timing was better I would have grabbed both of those amps.

Did you take those pics yourself?

They look very professional with the white background.....they will make a nice addition to my amp guts collection.

You would be wrong.

There is a test review of the 4 channel on line.

Personally I liked the new 2.640 I had. Like I said , only complaint was size due to fet placement I reckon.

The board layout is totally different but the sound on "new" is actually quite good.

It's been years since I had a my 5.0 &10.0

But old ref to new ref would be close. I didn't do a side by side.

The new refs are solid. Just big. My only gripe.

It had a very minor problem so it is being tested over the week to make sure that it is not something more going on. I should have it next week.

Well just for reference(no pun intended) I believe the guy that sold these amps to WLDock who is on the Bimmer Foeums also has a Zapco Reference and he says they are close and in the same league.

I have a closet full of the older amps and I plan on getting a set of these new References.....4 2.640's and one 1.1000 is what I'm thinking.

The large heatsinks will force me to be creative fitting them into a stealth install...but I'll figure it out.

If you look at the European models they have a slightly different layout but they also have internal fans.

On the US models ....no fans.

So yeah they probably decided to go with a larger heatsink and avoid any reliability problems a fan could introduce.
