Morel Ultimo 12 and Dynaudio Esotar2 1200 Users- Aperiodic Enclosure For Sale
Product Brand & Model:
I am selling my Aperiodic Enclosure which was used VERY successfully with my Morel Ultimo 12 and Dynaudio Esotar2 1200 subwoofers, as I have documented in my reviews on both subs. The AP mat was made by USD Audio. The enclosure as you will see from the pics is made of 3/4" MDF and is 5-sided, so only the top panel to hold the sub needs to be fabricated. There are some small holes on the underside created when the carpeting was removed, but they can be easily filled. The enclosure is ready for carpeting or whatever.

Have a ski pass-through? Mount it so the sub fires through it? Rear deck with an opening? Mount it so the sub fires through it. But, you must have the enclosure in a trunk that is completely sealed from the cabin.
Here are pics of mine mounted to my rear deck first with the Ultimo and then with the Esotar:
Here are pics of the enclosure with the Ultimo mounted in it:

I didn't build this one, but I did put together a few when I worked at Speakerworks. We would sandwich the material between two pieces of mdf that were glued together, so a retune might be difficult. This one may be screwed together which would make a retune more realistic, but I don't know for sure.
This enclosure looks very sturdy and should sound great. I'm all for the slightly larger enclosure with more area for the vent, as this tends to sound a lot better. Good luck.

all you have to do is find out the QTS of the Morel Ultimo sub and find another sub with similar or lower QTS and this will work 100% for you.

Well, technically the AP mat can be re-tuned, but the amount of work involved because the mat is embedded inside MDF would make that effort senseless. You would be better off purchasing a new mat designed for your particular sub. And, yes, as I noted in my reviews on the Ultimo and Esotar subs, this AP application was awesome.

Ap Mat boxes are so awesome...but when i used to build them, we made them just a bit deeper than the sub...this box seems to be 8"-10" deep instead of the 6" i would expect. Or is it just the way it appears in the pic?

Using 3/4" MDF for the top plate, and with the Ultimo or the Esotar sub counter sunk, there is 1" between the bottom of the sub and the top surface of the mat.
