Additional info:
Well, its finally come time for me to give selling my car some serious thought. The ONLY reason i am considering is that as the type of install that i do grows in complexity, I find myself needing to haul bigger and bigger sheets of wood, plexi etc. To that end, a full size truck is perhaps better suited to my daily grind than my beloved LGT. I am not a two vehicle type of guy so the option of buying an additional truck is out.
The car started as a 2005 Subaru Legacy 2.5GT limited wagon, at the time of purchase this is about the most expensive model in the Subaru line up, stickering at around 33-34k. It is fully loaded, power everything, leather and a giant sun roof that goes all the way to the backseat and opens fully. Dual zone climate control, etc etc.
Here is a list of mods that went on at about the 75k mile mark:
KN intake
Cobb Pulley
Perrin turbo inlet hose
Perrin TMIC
760cc injectors (maybe its slightly different, cant remember exact cc lol)
Walbro pump
aquamist methanol injection
18G turbo at 20psi w/meth
flex UP
Cobb DP
Crucial P/P exhusat manifold
BC Racing BR coilovers
Tranny Cooler
crossdrilled/slotted rotors
magnaflow exhuast with porsche 911 style tips
20% Tint
AEM UEGO wideband
autometer boost guage
accessport with custom tdc/harmann map
GFB BOV at 50/50
Kosei K3 18x7.5
General Exclaim 225 40 18
Debadged with L7 bade ont he back
cleared headlights
6000 HIDs
engine cover and bracket delete
urathane control arm bushings
At the 100k Mile mark, these additional things were performed:
Complete repaint of the front bumper and hood to elimate the paint chips
Full frontal clear bra
all Vacuum hoses under hood replaced with new
Timing belt at 105k
Over the course of my ownership, the car has been extremely well taken care of, the engine has seen nothing but Eneos 0w20 oil (high end JDM oil), and everything else regularly maintained. the car also has had a full detail with clay bar and wax every year with regular washes.
The car now has 113k miles and has really been well maintained, it drives beautifully and looks great as well.
The stereo install has won me quite a few trophies over the last few years...and sounds very nice...and being a california car you know there is no rust issue what so ever.
the normal amount of slight dings and cips here and there along with interior scrapes mainly in the back from hauling big things
could use a new set of tires in the next few thousand miles
the light bulb behind the engine temp guage burned out so the white portion doesnt light up, but the needle and the red range indicator still works so you can easily tell whats going on.
The car is still VERY fast, i never beat on the car and have performed exactly TWO standing brake torque starts when i borrowed a friend's Gtech after the performance mods were done. The car sprinted to 60 in 4.3 seconds and quater mile estimate in the high 12s at around 109 iirc. With the meth injection and a relatively modest sized turbo, the car spools just as fast as stock (actually faster) but yet still have excellent top end. If you live somehwere other than Cali, you can retune the car for 93 octane and get another 15-20HP out of it.
Gas mileage expect around 17-18 city, and 25-26 hwy, I drive about 80 percent city and 20 percent hwy, and i average around 20.5...on long trips to socal, i have seen as high as 27.5. The advantage of having a turbo car is that if you drive it reasonably and stay out of boost on your daily commute, you can save quite a bit of gas.
So selling the car as a whole package, everything included, plus the OEM spare tire, the accessport engine tuner/diagnostic tool.
So basically, you are looking at a well maintained, fast, safe, relatively luxurious, practical vehicle that also sounds great at the same time.
I have spent roughly $15k of my own money on the car (normal cost on everyhting would be closer to 25k for a private person).
Now, i am simply asking $15000 for the entire thing.
I am not going to list the car openly because i dont want some kid who doesnt appreciate what the car has to get it and beat the crap out of it. Hence listing it here on DIYMA only
The truth is, i am not in a rush to sell it, if no one i trust buys it, i will likely just keep it and forget about the truck...but if my baby can go to a good home...then i will let it go.
Plenty of people have seen and rode in the car to know that its in great shape
Any questions, feel free to PM me
Cheers!
Bing

Re: FS: My car - 2005 Subaru Legacy GT Limited Wagon - SQ Comp Car - Fast! :)
most likely a dodge ram.
main reason is i want a reg. cab full size truck with the top line engine, short bed, and 4wd...and apparently, the ram is the only one offering that combo.
Re: FS: My car - 2005 Subaru Legacy GT Limited Wagon - SQ Comp Car - Fast! :)
Good luck with sale, love these cars and spent a long time looking for one before giving up and buying my current vehicle.
I did not see anywhere if its manual or auto? I know you said you are only listing it on here, but have you considered any other forums to list it on? Fairly regularly people on vwvortex are looking for these wagons in good condition, and from the pics yours looks very clean. If you want me to pass your details onto anyone there let me know.
Re: FS: My car - 2005 Subaru Legacy GT Limited Wagon - SQ Comp Car - Fast! :)
i will give it a shot on here first before other forums. if you wanna help pass the word on, no problem just link it to this thread
the car is a 5 spd auto the cool thing about this auto is that in manual mode via buttons on the steering wheel, it will hold gear even if u bump against the rev limiter
Re: FS: My car - 2005 Subaru Legacy GT Limited Wagon - SQ Comp Car - Fast! :)
As an owner of a Subaru and a Dodge Ram, I see your point, the sad part is even though I also went 4wd Hemi, CrewCab, I never haul anything in my truck. Although ask anyone who knows me, I love my Ram.....

There is a really rare Toyota Tundra model out there that has that combo. It was made in 2007-2009 I believe... it's a regular cab, 4wd, TRD Tundra with the 5.7L engine. They're absolutely INSANE trucks. Scary fast considering it's size too. And the amount of space behind the seats is pretty amazing... you could probably get a sub with about 6-7" of mounting depth back there without losing any seat travel.

My weakness has been and always will be VW's but I enjoy what having a well thought out Subaru does to me. Don't worry your car will sell really quick, it usually happens like that when a car has been part of your life for so many years...
Re: FS: My car - 2005 Subaru Legacy GT Limited Wagon - SQ Comp Car - Fast! :)
x2 on the Tundra recommendation. And they do still make it, just ask for model 8323 or 8324. Might have to be special ordered. I'm a Toyota OEM supplier so I know what's up. I drive a Sequoia and that 5.7L engine is a beast, even in stock trim.

Hey don't dismiss the Ram Hemi as a viable choice. I am sure since it is Bing that he has sound reasoning for his future purchase decision. Several if my Toyota friends, after driving/riding in my Ram has had buyer's remorse. Either way love what has been done to the Subaru and hope that you get financially what you want for it.

KEEP THE WAGON! Get a hidden hitch and small folding utility trailer. The trailer holds 4x8 sheets of wood and folds into a 24"x63" space. You could do it all for less than $600. Way cheaper than buying a new truck.
These would appear to be junky, but they've been selling them forever with pretty good results. Search around the web and you'll see that lots of folks like them. Re-grease the bearings and weld the corners for best results.
Euro style hitches are the equivalent of a 2" ball and are completely hidden if you don't like the low hanging American options. You just need to add some saftey chain loops.
Unless you really want a truck I think you'll regret going to one. If you can almost get by like you are then this option would probably easily meet your needs.
