FS: Dynaudio Esotar 110 with Custom smaller Faceplate only 3.5"
$1300 shipped.
These are basically new with a custom faceplate keeping them at 3.5" I bought them with the intentions of installing them in my next vehicle purchase however after doing several testdrives on potential vehicles I will not be able to use these in the one I will be going with even thought they are much smaller than the original faceplate. They have never been installed and come with the original box but not the original faceplate, i had these made at a local cnc mahine shop. i was using the orignal faceplates along with a grinder as a template so i dont have the original ones anymore. Please look at my review of these on another thread I have posted. I will also provide a pair of 1/2" mdf rings for these so you can fiberglass them in place.

Re: FS: Dynaudio Esotar 110 with Custom smaller Faceplate only 3.5"
I was looking at some trucks, challenger, camaro and mustang gt. I really like the mustang gt. it's fast, comfortable, sounds great even with the stock exhaust and as I mentioned the 110 might work but with some work that I'm not so sure I'd like to put in that Vehicle. Considering the door design I plan on going with a 3 way set up consisting of the 102, 650, 182 up front and a 1200 on the rear deck IB or sealed in the trunk.
Re: FS: Dynaudio Esotar 110 with Custom smaller Faceplate only 3.5"
The custom faceplate Was cnc machined out of aluminum and retains the original angle at the tweeter opening. It's painted satin black using baked on caliper paint so it should be durable. The grill is from the morel cdm88 dome midrange.
Re: FS: Dynaudio Esotar 110 with Custom smaller Faceplate only 3.5"
I'm beginning to hate these tweeters. These threads physically hurt me. I've almost pulled the trigger about 5 different times already. Anyway, bump for some great tweeters in a smaller than normal format.

Out of curiosity, are you running a tweeter right now? I'm always curious about a fellow 430 user's crossover frequencies.
Back on topic, I'm considering these tweeters if they're still here on payday. Just got to figure out how to hide it from the boss. I might as well do it so I stop going crazy every time one of these FS threads pop up.

BuickGN,
I'm just finishing up an install in my Ridgeline for now using PHASS speakers. The Dyns will be going in my GTR install which should start this October. The tweets I bought were the MD 102's just like yours. I'll keep you posted in what crossover points I'll use; would love some advice too bro!
Cheers, JJ

Re: FS: Dynaudio Esotar 110 with Custom smaller Faceplate only 3.5"
Here are some more pictures, hopefully they are clearer than the first ones. I have been going back and forth going crazy trying to decide if I should keep them or sell them but the more I think about the more Id hate to admit it that I should sell these and go with the md102 for a couple of reasons. The main reason is simply that I will be installing this system in a 2013 mustang GT and I know myself, I wont keep that damn thing anywhere near stock. With all the harmony of that 5.0 engine combined with a supercharger and exhaust I don't honestly think I will be able to fully enjoy the esotar 110 unless im parked with the engine off so ultimately I will be going with the md102 instead. I think they will go pretty well with the esotar 650 and mw182 up front and an esotar 1200 IB out back. If this were a sedan or any other vehicle for that matter I would definitely keep the esotar 110.

The Stang will be a truly sweet ride! It shouldn't stop you from using those 110's though! When sitting idle your tweet will still have to overcome nise whether you are using the 102 or the 110...I say go with the 110 if it fits. The problem I have with the 110 is that it wouldn't fit in my car (2013 GTR) without crazy obtrusive mods, otherwise Jerry N would have already sent me a pair! That's why the smaller format interested me.
My car has 705hp to the wheels, but after the first minute after startup, idle noise is not too bad.
I say to go with the best equipment that fits (or can be made to fit well) in your car. It will sound the best it can under whatever condition you're driving...idle or balls to the wall! Plus there will be nothing better than having your Stang fully opened up AND the stereo clear and loud...I can already see your hair blowing back!!!

You have a point regarding sitting idle either one will have to overcome background noise. Maybe once I get the mustang and do some work to it we could meet up for drag race just give me a Headstart just to make it fair.

I don't know about this headstart stuff! Sky is the limit when you mod cars, especially Mustangs (and GTRs)!
The one thing that I love is a car that has performance AND sounds great!!!

You're welcome bro! Those are such great components you have, they will find a great home in whatever vehicle you decide on!

Re: FS: Dynaudio Esotar 110 with Custom smaller Faceplate only 3.5"
Very, very nice GTR. It's good to see someone as humble as you are with a car like that.
A supercharged 5.0 Mustang would be a lot of fun as well.
For some reason I thought Lunchbox was in Ca this whole time, I was going to ask for a ride. I can only imagine what a 700whp GTR feels like. Mine made 602rwhp at 31psi of boost but I'm really pushing it on a mostly stock bottom end. I put it on a weight reduction and got it down to a hair over 3,000lbs because more power just isn't in the cards without a lot of additional money invested. Never had it to the track since then but it has the potential to pull off that elusive single digit 1/4 mile if I can put it down. On the street I keep the boost down when it's on street tire, it won't hook at any legal speed so additional power only puts more stress on the engine. AWD would be very nice for street tire driving. I bet 700whp will still spin all 4 tires pretty bad... I usually don't look at spinning the tires as cool but if the car can do a rolling AWD burnout, that's pretty cool.
Back to the audio, I ended up with a great tune over the weekend with some tweaking of the crossovers. The 102s sound REALLY nice right now. I'll still hit you up about the 110s come Friday if they're not sold already but after this recent tune I'm not in such a hurry to get them. I need to work on my tuning more I think. I tend to impulse buy so I might get them anyway.

I've never had the pleasure to drive or ride in a Grand National before, but I have had a soft spot for that car ever since I was in high school and first began getting hooked on car audio during the days of Richard Clark and his GN.
Tell you what bro, if you ever make your way up around these parts (Vancouver, Canada) I'll make sure to set aside some time for a fellow audiophile and give you an awesome tour of the area! Maybe you can give me tuning tips since you seem to be continually discovering the beautiful subtleties of your Dyns. I am definitely appreciative of advice in the tuning realm as I feel very inexperienced in how to approach and execute a proper tune!
Even better, if IASCA continues with it's trend to have SQ finals satellite locations in Northern California, maybe we can get all these crazy cars together somehow! 11 hour drive in the GTR will be cake, right?
