Default WTB: Pure SPL subwoofer.

A guy I know is interested in replacing his now-blown-out Boston Acoustics subwoofers. Considering that A. his old subwoofers looked like crap, and B. he blew them out from overuse, I think that a pure SPL-oriented subwoofer would suit him just fine.

So, anyone got anything impressive in terms of sheer sound output? I'm looking for cheap and loud - sound quality is a far-behind third place.

I have a 12" Fi/SX hybrid for sale. It is an RE SX12 that was reconed using all Fi soft parts. It has a fresh recone and it handles 1200 watts and has some cooling options. It would be perfect in a 3 cubic foot enclosure tuned to 32 or 33Hz. Im looking for 250 + shipping.

I run 2 custom woofers that are designed for spl usage. The person making them is a db drag competitor. They can be made with dual spiders, or triple spiders, and with d.7, d1, d1.7, or d2 coils. They run mid-$300 depending on options and size. If you want info, pm me.

Pretty much, yes. He has a large box as it is.

I'm currently looking for something a bit cheaper. I doubt his subs cost $100 each new - think cheaper.

I recall someone selling a big oval JBL woofer cheaply a while ago for $140 or wherabouts.

In reference to the VC picture. It looks like the FSQ coil burned up before the MT coil did, so you might wanna clarify what you were talking about and what the picture means

FSQ coil burned up the MT did not. they weren't tested against each other. the MT coil has a rub as evidence of the shiny silver. we cut it apart to inspect it and figured i would take a pic of them next to each other. The FSQ took over 6k on music playing 10 and 20hz bass songs ill let that speak for itself.
