Default discs for tuning car and........home

hey all,

I'm looking for some good discs to start tuning my system with. These are some that look to be pretty good from http://www.regnar.com/

10045-2 T "MY DISC": The Sheffield Lab / A2TB Test Disc (For all types of audio equipment) 86 tracks, engineered to provide a thorough evaluation of your audio system's performance, the listening environment, as well as your personal critical listening ability. "My Disc"contains special tracks that enable you to analyze performance, with or without specialized test equipment. Now you can leave your other test gear at home and evaluate any system any time you want to--for example, at a friend's house, in a show room, or even in a car. There are also six complete music tracks from Sheffield. A detailed 20-page booklet takes you through each procedure, track by track. "My Disc" will become your single indispensable disc for critical evaluation.

10040-2 T THE SHEFFIELD LAB / COUSTIC TEST DISC (For Car and Home Theater). Developed for installers, competitors and audio enthusiasts to set-up and test high performance auto sound systems, as well as audio/video surround sound (home theater) systems. Technical support was supplied by Autosound 2000's Richard Clark, widely recognized as the expert in award-winning Car audio sound. Appropriate for the simplest of systems and for the most sophisticated. In addition to narration and musical excerpts, this disc provides test tones for proper channel identification, phasing, polarity, and surround sound signals to help users create ideal listening environments, both in the car and at home. "A must for Car and Home Enthusiasts" -Car Audio.

11420-2 F THE SHEFFIELD DRUM AND TRACK DISC. The Sheffield Drum and Track Disc combines two "direct to disc"recordings made by Sheffield Lab in 1980 and 1982. These recordings quickly became the reference standard for component testing and evaluation, and achieved legendary status with recording engineers, hi-fi equipment manufacturers, audio sales personnel, and audiophiles world-wide. Features Robbie Buchanan and James Newton Howard on keyboards, Nathan East on bass, Mike Landau on guitar, Carlos Vega on drums, and Lenny Castro on percussion.

10037-2 M SHEFFIELD DRIVE. Our demo disc features thirteen tracks from our catalog chosen specifically to demo the best qualities of high-end audio systems. Features in depth descriptions of each tune written by audio industry leaders including Richard Clark of Autosound 2000, Ira Friedman of Boston Acoustics and Sheffield Founder and Mastering Engineer Doug Sax.

Can anyone comment on these ar recommend others. I have pretty much no cash so I'm looking to get something pretty cheap. Any comments, suggestions, donations would be much appreciated. Thanks very much

I too would like some test cds. Not just test tones but music that's good for testing or designed for it.

Alpine 9886, H701+C701, Seas Neo, Vifa TG9, ID CX62, Pair of IDQ10v2s, Audio Planet BB175.4B, Clarion APA4101 and of course, RAAM!

I'll suggest Herbie Hancock Possibilities this is a great album for testing and it is very easy to tell when something sounds right or not, and it's just a great abum to listen too aswell.

Gradually learning to do more and more with less and less until I can do everything with nothing.

I got a hold of the Coustic Disc a few days ago. It says it's from 1994, though. Shoot me a pm. I'll just send it to you if you cover the $2 shipping.

Steve has put together an incredible collection of songs. There are now 63 (including the set up disk) in the entire library...it's like over 1000 songs IIRC. Check out the most up to date thread "V3" in the Sq Competitors section. Some of the Sheffield material you're looking for is intermixed, otherwise I have the rest if you need it.

Just looked at the list of songs

How much does Steve asked for a disc?

There's so many with great music it would be hard to chose which ones to get!
