Piss my pants....not really , but I am interested to give a few h audio drivers a go......I have been back and forth with Mark about a number of the H audio line up. I just wish a local shop had them to give them a listen and so I could A?B the line up....a local shop like TC audio possibly?

Todd would be a great dealer for them. He gets enough crazy custom work coming in that his installs would be a great showcase.

I'm also looking for comments on the comparison of the X3 / Trinity. I'm looking for a 'full range' to mount in A-Pillar pods on my work van. Hillbilly since you have seen it ...whatcha think? I'd like to run them as 'wide open' as possible ....but it doesn't look like either one will match to a sub ...I'm going to have to run 6.5" midbass in the doors to get me 80hz - ???.

Also ...any pricing on the X3 or Trinity?

Ideas are appreciated,

I was actually talking to Mark about that exact thing.....I would love to see Todd pushing these only problem is that as of now they would have to be sold to those wanting to go active, since a passive network is not available.

I'm interested to hear the Trinitys as well. I've yet to get my hands on a pair. I think the next drivers I'll be testing will be the Ebony Midbass drivers.

I will be putting MSRP and Introductory pricing up on the site in the News and Event Section in a few days.

Alrighty folks…

I spent a few hours last night, after work at my parent’s house, to hang out with Pop’s and do some listening. His actual setup is currently packed away in boxes in lieu of the creation of these:

Speakers for my dad... H-Audio goodness included

So we made due with his computer setup in the basement "which consists of an intergated amp off his soundcard"… and to be honest… since I’m not using them properly who cares… LOL

First off, they are playing OB… something that I do not recommend unless the room is correct and you can get them far enough from the back wall… Also, they were playing without any filter.. so they were naturally rolling off . Dynamic range suffered as you reach mechanical limitations very quickly.. Also top end suffered because of it as I was truly asking too much from this small driver…

So the bottom line is how well did they do? I will say that they need break in… in fact.. just like any driver, the more the better.. Within an hour of listening they came to life. Midrange on these babies are very, very smooth… It’s coherent out the wazzu, which aids in the midrange presence. .. Top end on tracks that were more geared towards the upper octaves were surprisingly detailed and delicate.. I found that positioning played a part in top end extension.. I am guessing that some beaming caused some issues with vertical dispersion as well as some possible doppler effects since once again it was truly being played full range.

Some side notes, if you like crazy top end detail then adding the enigma say 10-12k and up would be helpful… does it need it?.. If installed and used properly no, granted it rolls off, but I am willing to sacrifice some top end extension for less point sources and overall coherency…

The bottom line is this.. we walked away last night in amazement that such a small driver did so well… and we are even more excited that when used properly should be incredible… So with that being said, this makes perfect since in a car, the ability to place this optimally with ease verses a large format driver is a no brainer…

So to make a long story short… buy with confidence!!!!

more to come with the homespeaker build...

Randy thanks for the great and encouraging review. You are a brave man I would never have ran them completely fullrange, and no way fullrange and Open Baffle. But, you did tell everyone you where going to put them thru some h*ll.

Looking forward to part 2 when the towers are ready.

Hello
Is there anyone who can give me some informations about X2? I tryed to get infos from Mark (Here-I-Come) and one of the Hustler audio reps but without success
I have the Soul and Ebony (didn`t tryed them yet) and I would like to try 2w combination but no one wants or can at least roughly compare X2 sound. I like the sound of Hertz Mille 2w and 3w Focal Utopia, while I don`t like the sound of DLS Iridium speakers. If someone has the experience to compare I will be grateful.
I`m sorry for bad english.
Thanks
Cheers

Makr is normally on late at night/early morning give him some time to get back to you....he is full of info and knows his drivers.

As far as your drivers I know Mark is pairing up the soul mids with the X2 drivers for a killer combo, so that may be the combination that you are looking for.....if you part with one or the other mids(soul/ebony) I may be in the market.

Hi sir, if I missed your PM or email I'm truly sorry.

As for the X2 goes unpredictableacts is correct. The sonic signature of the X2 is more of a match for the Soul. Given that both have a predominate Aluminium cone with a ploy blend. Both the X2 and soul have a crisp and detailed sound, but with bit of added smoothness to combat listen fatigue in the higher octaves.

This is not to say the X2 will not sound nice with the Ebony, as it those. It's just a easier match/blend with the Soul. The Ebony has a warmer more natural sound; as Ploy mica is predominate in its cone blend. The Ebony with the Trinity is outstanding combination. One of the keys for easier blend/transition from driver to driver as we know; is to ensure their sonic signatures match as closely as possible. This is why the EET 3-way arrangement is a great combo, with the Ebony, Enigma and Trinity.

As for the sound you seem to like, the X-Soul2 is without a doubt no Iridium set. Compared tot he X-Soul2 set the Iridium set me be consider a little dark. Not sure what the Hertz Mille 2w is! The focal Be 3w, as I limit time with this driver (been on my list to tested more) I would say the X2 is close in nature to the Be 3 and from my time with it, it is very detailed, but has a smooth nature. It was kind of hard for me to get the Be tweeter to match/blend with it, took a little eqing. The combo was in a gentlemen's car I had the pleasure of listening to and tunning a little for about 40 mins at one of the car shows I host when I had my shop. Just not enough time for me to do any real hard core listening, but from the little time I had with the Be system it is one Killer system.

Once more sorry for missing your PM or Email. Hope this helps and if you have any more question fill free to ask and thank you for you interests in H-Audio.

Hello!
I'm sorry if I was a little pushy, but all is ready to set up and still don`t know which speaker to order. Ebony and Soul will be tested up to 4kHz and that will give a better picture but the x2 or Trinity would likely be the main source of sound so ...
Thanks for your reply. I will send another PM
To the other hated guy, can you compare sound of Trinity with any of the following systems? DLS Iridium 3w, Dynaudio Esotec 2w or 3w (242 or...), Hertz MLK 165 or ML2, Focal Utopia 3w.
Thanks

O ya, I finally figure out what the 3w and 2w means; 3-way and 2-way.
