Default Too small of a box?

If I have a 0.5 cu.ft. box for a 10" meant for a 0.62 cu.ft. box what will the side effects be for the bass? How much would polyfill help out?

My God Man! You make a lot of threads. Search, I promise the answers are out there. You really don't need to make a new thread for every single question you have.

More important is was kind of woofer. Some are fairly tolerant and some are not. But that's such a small difference I wouldn't expect to much effect. The poly will help. As far as performance it would roll off a few hz higher and not play quite as low.

Who cares? It would have taken you less time to just pass the thread than to complain. Who cares if it's a new thread? I can guarantee you that for most of the new threads there is an answer out there (this forum or another). There would be less than a few posts per day if we stuck to only new threads, besides things change, new products come out and new people are not going to go to old threads to put their opinions in otherwise they get flamed for "bringing back a dead thread."

I got plenty more questions that I had answered by other threads but if I feel like the thread is old, outdated or didn't answer all the questions I had I will start a new one rather than bring the other one up from a few years ago so do me a favour and just hit "add to ignore" for my username so you don't have to read my endless threads.

Simple answer:

Try it and see. What is more trustable someone else's opinion or your own ears? I have a pair of jl 13W6v2's each in it's own 1 cube box which is significantly smaller than what they recommend. I put a pound of polyfill in each box and it sounds great. Probably can't get quite as low as a larger box but it sounds good to me.

Started out with no polyfill then added it afterwards and I noticed a difference. Go down to your local craft store and buy a pound of "polyester fiberfill" and stuff it in there it'll make your box feel bigger to the woofer.

Experimentation is the only answer. Dash mids firing up at windshield is generally a no-no by most yet it sounds great in my Scion due to the windshield shape. Had I not tried I wouldn't have known that it defies the general consensus.

The point is that you're cluttering up the entire forum with 10 new threads a day. Do a little work yourself.

I don't understand the policing of these threads ...

1. If you see a thread started by somebody, you don't like the title, and you have something negative to say, why even comment at all?

2. Aren't YOU cluttering the THREAD by posting a meaningless comment? With the time you took to do that, maybe you could have helped the OP.

3. This is a DIY forum right? Or is it an expert forum only? Seems like alot of the guys that need help with questions often get less than stellar responses to their actual question. They get treated as if they are stupid, or bothering others on the forum. That's total bush league crap.

4. Poster had a legit question. The search function on this forum BLOWS, hands down. I've tried to use it many times and I always get poor results. Maybe as you get more experience on the forum, you learn the ins and outs of it, but for a NOOB, it sucks.

That's all ...

As for the answer, usually polyfill yields about 20% extra volume, which should make your box mas perfecto ...

I guarantee you in each one of my "cluttering" threads, at least 1 person found something useful that they didn't know or didn't even consider in their install.

It's a forum not a wikipedia where there is one thread per topic and then you update it.

Alright, I'll ease up. This is a forum for asking questions and getting help, I agree. But the fact still remains that ALL of your questions could easily have been answered with a very simple search. It's nice of these people to take the time to spoon feed you information, but it would be cool to at least see a little effort on your part. Not only will you learn a lot more if you actually search and read through some discussions, but you'll actually be able to contribute to the forum by helping others in the future.

Trust me, I did ample searching and for even some topics it was just to verify what I found and how I interpreted it. For all I did find searches and useful info but a fresh set of ideas isn't bad.

As with many forums, it can work better to search the site with google.

That is the right answer it will make the sub play a little higher, you can model it in WinISD and see how much. Mostly if you don't care about your subs getting real low then don't worry about it, try it without the stuffing first. Me, I hate that but some are fine with it. Also depends on how much cabin gain your car has.

Pioneer PRS 880~Boston comps~Infinity quad 12s IB (removed)~Kicker 700.5 (removed)~ Dragster 4x50 highs~Alpine MRD-M500 on new PYLE 15s IB, and working well so far.
