I have a decent amount of experience with these amps, and have nothing negative to say about them. They are pretty bulletproof, in fact I personally have run there F2 300 Bridged 1ohm mono, just to torture test it. It ran for about 2 hours at high volume before it thermal shut down (it was mounted under a seat also). After it was off for a few minutes it turned right back on and played for awhile, I was very impressed with it's performance. It has run like a champ at 4 ohms ever since.
Some amp company used to advertise there amps were built to drive nails, well IMHO the Twister amps were built for this too. LOL They are done by the same company, in Italy, that does the STEG amplifiers (GT Trading). In the US they are imported and distributed by ORCA Design, who also imports/distributes Focal and Steg. In the intrest of full disclosure, my store is a Focal/Audio System/Steg dealer. In addition I have heard that GT Trading recently sold the Audio System brand to a German company. Hope that's helpfull. |

^^^ frmdrkside... To clarify... and you can call the boys at Orca on this one too, this is what we have been told.
Audio System is and was technically owned by a German company, and has been for a while, they design the equipment, but it is still manufactured by GT Trading, even the new stuff which is in development. |

That could be true, however my rep who is the rep for southern california and is regularly at Orca, just told me that it was sold to a German company and they are developing the new product and having it manufactured (not by GT Trading). He implied that the sale was rather recent and was based on some other issues within GT Trading. I possibly misunderstood, or perhaps he miss spoke.
Regardless, the audio system amps are very solid in my opinion. |
