Default You gurus know anything about this on ebay?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...4387&rd=1&rd=1

I was considering grabbing one of these to power some speakers I made with rs125s and a tang softdome tweeter and one of those tang 6.5 subs. Anyone ever seen anything like this before. Does not look like the typical ht amp. Its suspiciously cheap too. Odd. Any thoughts?

I would almost bet that the parts that were in "zapco" shipped boxes were symbilink cables. The connection is electrically different, but the plugs and cables look the same. if so, then the cables alone originally cost almost as much as he is selling the units for...

i picked up one of those just because it was soo cheap. it's not that great of a product but i've only hooked it up using my headphone dac/amp as my source so the gains may just be too high. i believe the input voltage max is 1v. it's fun to play around with but i wouldn't get your hopes up too high. it is made from the same city taht zapco is out of though. :-)

Scott- have you been able to tell if any of the channels have an internal crossover, since they are called "high pass inputs" and "mono low pass"? hopefully they don't.

Guy at work got one. The birthsheet screams Zapco (it has that dot matrix looking print out that Zapco stuff has). The cable has that locking collar that Zapco uses on theres (versus the no-locking Soundstream and rockford used with their version of the cable). The paperwork seems to support my theory it was Zapco doing OEM work.

i actually got it to play with a soundblaster live 5.1 card, kxproject driver, and trying to build a 3 way active set of computer speakers :-) just to play with. i'm sure it'll sound ok running off a soundcard, i just dont have mine installed right now.

as far as i know, there are no internal x-overs and you can byepass the 'preamp' and wire directly to the amp. you just have to hack up a mini din 6 cable and you'll be fine.

guys just keep in mind that that 15 watts/chan is rated at 8 ohms. also if you're going to be hooking it up to a computer i highly recommend a pci card that is compatible with the 'kxproject' drivers. it's a great upgrade to the soundcard and is infinately adjustable (almost). I used it in my original car pc set up and it improved the sound dramatically over just the soundblaster's drivers. all this on a card taht costs about 20 bucks

Sorry for the OT, but can you use the drivers as an active crossover or would you need the software to do that and the drivers to route the outputs to specific outs?

This is perfect for an ultra cheap ht computer. Combine this with the $25 htib that PE had on sale, and I think my brother in-law is gonna be stoked with his bday present.

well..the drivers are software. you can do a lot with them and i believe they have a crossover plugin. basically you can 'rewire' the card via the software drivers and add time delays, effects, dsp of all sorts. there is a bit of a learning curve, but once you realize the full potential of the drivers you'll be stoked!

That's the one, they had it as a deal-of-the-day during the 12 days of xmax. It was $25 shipped. I needed a couple aero ports as well, and it only added like 60 cents to the shipping due to the free shipping on the big item, so I saved about $8 on the ports as well. They're cheap, but it makes for a cool gift. My brother-in-law prefers the sound of my logitech x-230 computer speakers over my Seas mtm's, so they are right up his alley. lol

Yea, sorry, my question was kind of crappily asked
The driver software by itself is capable of an active crossover? Separate software is not needed?
