Post 2012 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid Door Panel Removal

I just retrofitted some speakers on my 2012 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid. Figuring out how to get the door panels off was not straight forward. Postings about some older MKZs and the Ford Fusion gave me hints, but Lincoln has added some extra hidden panels and screws recently. I thought someone might appreciate if I posted pictures of how to get at all of the screws. There are 5 torx 20 screws and 1 hex head bolt that need to be removed before you can use a panel removal tool to pop off to door panel. (Other postings on the Fusion and MKZ are sufficient to figure out how to use a door panel removal tool).

Attached are 4 slides with 8 pictures on how to remove the panel. (Slide content and results are not guaranteed)

Very nice piece of work. All these are kind of stock/usual places for screws and such, except for the very last one. That's a gold mine of information right there!

Um... Unusual to post a .pdf. Did you do the workup and formatting yourself? Nice and clean though- exactly what you need; no fluff.

I thought that the best path forward for other relative novices such as myself would be to add arrows and circles to highlight the key areas of interest in the photos. The only picture editing software I could think of at 5:00 this morning defaulted to .pdfs......so that's what I posted. There wasn't much thought to it.

Man, I wish the $800 Motors manuals were that clear and concise!
Great info here.

Thankfully those that know it all, can't do it all!

I was stumped on how to find the bolt and screw under the door handle until I found your post. The pictures made the post perfect!! I was about to find someone to install my new speakers in the MKZ when I found your post.

Thank you

Your slides are incredible. I was stumped on the screws in the door handle, so it was a big help.

They are still there.

Look at this page on a different device.

I like building stuff. I'm not very good at it but I enjoy it.
