Default How to clean your hands after using spray-foam insulation/

Everybody has tried spray foam or two part foam for something. I am trying to get my post count up so I can PM people. Here is a great tip:

If you get that spray foam on your fingers (which you will), nothing gets it removed except for peeling off your skin.

Try "paintbrush cleaner" from a paint store. I have tried everything: Xylene, Toluene, Gasoline, lacquer thinner, alcohol, whatever to get the stuff off. But the paintbrush cleaner worked awesome.

that is all.

Yes, I always wear gloves... the disposable kind. If I'm working on my car, I'm wearing gloves.

I use a file.

Gloves don't work well for me. Even the greasiest, filthiest and roughest tasks in my day job.(Elevator installation mechanic). I lose too much sensitivity-much like condoms.

How about hand cleaner in general? I used to swear by Permatex blue label. At some point they changed the formula. It lost that gasoline smell and smelled too much like fragrance and behaved more like lotion than cleaner. All the "orange" cleaners suck, too. Original formula Gojo works best for me. A good hand cleaner will have petroleum distillates to work well, imo. To really get my hands totally clean, doing the dishes with Dawn dish washing liquid works well.

There used to be a product called "Liquid Glove" that was great. You rub it on your hands and nails and cuticles and it made washing the hands a breeze.

Geez, all the time and effort I put into washing my hands, scrubbing my nails and hijacking threads talking about it could be saved if I just learn to work with gloves.

I didn't think anything worked on spray foam, except keeping it off your hands with gloves. I avoid using the shit, but I will try to remember this if I have to use it again.

Had a bad case of this after insulating an Airstream. My boss swore Vaseline worked best, but I think she had a lesser case than me! +1 for gloves...

Heck... I've had many a run in with gas on my hands.... One time @ band camp... I mean one time I had a really bad case and could not get the smell off....

Somewhere on the interwebs they suggested dish soap and a spoon... I had tried dish soap a bunch of times that day but for some reason rubbing them with a spoon and dish soap took care of most of the smell.
