Default Mounting custom center console

I never see any details on how these heavy mdf custom center consoles are actually mounted securely to the car.. Any advice? I want it to be clean, not in plain view and hopefully not having to cut carpet outside of stock console area..

Honestly? Most people don't secure them which makes them a projectile in a crash. I've made a removable panel on the top that I can get to the bottom and secure it that way. I've also used wing anchor bolts or regular bolts secured to the console and hanging out of the bottom. I then drilled holes through the floorboard and secured the console with washers and nuts under the vehicle. Another way mentioned above is with L brackets. Secure to the under side of the console and run through a small slit in the carpet. Pull the carpet back and secure to the floor.

You could always Build your console out of this stuff:

When I built the console for my Silverado, I just used this:
Shop The Hillman Group Plated Slotted Flat at Lowes.com

I bolted the straps to the enclosure, and then the straps went to the stock mounting point for what was the center seat. Worked nice.

Can you cut slots in the carpet and run metal strap (16-18Gauge) to seat bolts?
