Default Remote turn on

Say you take 12 gauge wire from the + on the batt to a toggle switch whereever you want to put it.
Then from toggle to amps.
The idea is to prevent pops during powering up and down.

yes you can do that but there are other solutions like a relay or delay timer/circuit as well

The problem with the toggle off the battery is that sooner or later you will forget to turn it off.

If there is a turn on or off pop, there is a high chance its the amplifier and not the remote cable. Unless you got a weird headunit which sends a 12v signal in the remote before acutally turning on itself. Or if the amplifier is very old and doesnt have a turn on delay or speaker relay in the circuit.

All I can say is do it and let us know the outcome.

find vehicle ignition on google, and tap into it, there is nothing more ghetto rigged than a flippin remote turn on, on a switch. in theory, it sounds fine, but you will HATE flipping a switch on and off all the time

I'm pretty sure a SP/ST switch will do absolutely nothing to eliminate a turn on/off pop.

Usually a result of in-rush current. As mentioned earlier, a relay is the way to go.

I don't think there's anything wrong with a switch on the remote wire. I have one on mine so I can easily turn off the sub when the kids are in the truck with me. It's easy and you can use any cheap switch since it doesn't need to handle much at all. Just my .02

If you are adding an ms8,use its remote turn on to turn on the amps. I think it specifically states this in the directions as well. The 8 will be fully powered up before sending the remote.

Also, if you have a bunch of amps, it would probably be a good idea to run a relay with the rem turn out wire. Put a relay in place of the switch you wanted, and feed that the remote turn on signal out of the MS8.

Don't do that. amp turn on signal is so weak, that you would need like 20 amps to even have a chance of them not turning on.

yeah, most processors have a remote output that's great to use. I use mine to turn three amps, and 3 relays on. My processor basically has a built in relay and puts battery power through the remote turn on output, so I could run lights and stuff if I wanted

I use this device to control turn on noise for my seven amps.
It also mutes any noise between songs.
Here's the pdf owner's manual link for it:

You can add a relay to the remote turn on, Or you can get it to go away with a diode. rare but sometimes its enough. Or just add the switch to the remote turn on wire so you dont have to run anything into the engine compartment.

No, not at this time.
I saw two or three of them pop up on ebay during the last year.

I just read through the owner's manual again and realized that I had forgot what a clever little toy it is.
And yes it will work with all systems; not just PPI.

So I was just looking through this thread because I am installing a relay for my turn on to protect my HU. My question is I don't want to deal with wiring it to the battery if I can help it, could I connect the relay to my under-dash fusebox with a 20A fuse, then run the ground and wires to the amps and HU?

Thanks for the help!
